I was running away from a group of bad guys, they were holding some weapon that could kill me. I didn't know what to do, I was scared of my life. The thing was I couldn't control myself, I can't talk, I can't think, I can't even stop myself from running, as if something kept telling me to do so.
The bad guys started to shoot at me, yet it all missed. I went onto a bridge to escape the area completely from them. As I was about to exit the bridge, a car from the opposite direction hit me hard with his whole speed. I fled away from the huge crash and I went out of the bridge, landing myself on the river.
Before I could reach the river, someone shouted my name loud from the bridge, a voice filled with concern and fear. I couldn't recognize the face or the voice, because when I opened my eyes after falling into the river...
"Damn it, it's that stupid dream again!!!!"
Yes, you heard it. I had been dreaming this over and over for the past few days, but failed to find out the true intentions behind it. No matter how many times I had that dream, I couldn't do anything but seeing myself fall into the river numerous times. I mean, why couldn't I just avoid it?!
Silly me, it's just a dream!! You can't control anything when it comes to dreams. However, who were the bad guys? Why did they chase me? And most of all, who was that man who screamed my name out loud?
"Sivaangi, are you alright?! Why did you scream?!!" One of the roommates opened the door of my room and checked on me with concern. "Hey, it's nothing, I was just having some bad dreams."
She raised one of her eyebrows in suspicion. "Was it that bad that it made you scream?" Technically, there were some dreams that we wouldn't have expected, so screaming at them was not a big deal. Right?
"Stop asking me these silly questions, thanks for checking up on me by the way, I have no idea what I am even dreaming of." I thanked her but she chuckled as a response.
"What's so funny?" I frowned at her smiling face. "It seems like you are having some guy's dreams, maybe that's why you screamed. I can understand." I gasped in surprise at her words but before I could reply, she left me alone immediately.
Great, now the atmosphere became thick, thanks to that roommate. Can't she just think everything is normal?! She would always think of something huge when there was nothing at all. Whatever, I'm tired of arguing with her, I need to get up from my bed to start my daily routine life.
Oh, by the way, Sivaangi here, it was nice meeting you all.
Sivaangi's POV
What a day to start with so much awkwardness, especially in the morning. I guess I need to have some coffee and chat with my friend. That's why I'm in this cafe, having a sip of my cup of coffee and waiting for my friend to show up.
Apart from anyone, my friend was the only person who was aware of my weird dream. I told her about it at the moment after I started having this dream. Unlike any other people who would assume me as a crazy person to have the same dream, my friend was the only person who understood my life completely.
Speaking of which, my life has been a mystery since the start. You know why? I hardly ever remember who I am in the past. I mean, I do remember my name, my identity and everything. The problem was, I think I forgot a particular part of my life. The first thing I remembered was being treated in a hospital, and told that I was being found on a quiet road somewhere.
At first, I thought I was being delusional, but I guess I won't find out about my past life soon, because those already happened like five to six years ago. I was raised in a hostel, with all the necessities I need. Now, I was staying in a rented home with some roommates, adjusting my clueless and boring life.
As I was having my own pool of thoughts, a familiar voice called out loud, I looked up and there she was, my friend I was talking about.
"Linda!!!"
I quickly stood up and hugged Linda in excitement, which she reciprocated. "Sivaangi, it's been a while. How are you?" She broke the hug and asked me with a smile.
"Well, I was being good, but I feel a lot better after you came up to me." Linda smiled at my answer, we both sat down, facing each other. She ordered her own drink and she got one in less time.
"So, how is your life going, Linda? Any exciting things going on?" I asked while raising my eyebrows twice. She scoffed and put her both hands on the table. "Exciting? Huh, it's the usual in any matter, work, home, eat and sleep. Nothing much is happening."
I smiled sarcastically. "Right, at least your life won't be as boring as mine." I couldn't help but to point out about this, I just didn't want her to feel useless in her life, unlike me.
Linda leaned in towards me with a concerned face. "Sivaangi, what's going on with you? You had that same dream again?" She asked me which made me sigh hard. Of course I did tell her everything about it on the phone, that's why I asked her to meet me in the cafe.
"It keeps coming back to me. I mean, I have no idea why, but I feel like something is not good about that dream. I tried and tried a lot to avoid it but it all went in vain." I said with a bit of irritation in my voice. Linda thought for a while before looking back at me.
"Sivaangi, are you going to ignore it just like that?" I snapped my head at Linda when she asked me. "Why shouldn't I? It's disturbing to even think about it!! I guess I have to make a visit to the psychiatrist for this."
Linda gasped and hit my hand slightly. "Are you crazy? This is just a normal problem, not a mental health problem. Don't put yourself in too much pressure, Sivaangi. It's not good for you or your body." I don't know what else to say, my mind went blank when I had to think about a solution for my problem.
"So, what do you want me to do? Give it up and have the same dream again until the end?" I looked away in annoyance, Linda shook her head and pulled her chair forward to speak directly at my face.
"Sivaangi, just...calm down, being stressed is not gonna help you solve it. Just talk about it and we'll find out about the root cause sooner or later." I let out a huge sigh and rested myself on the table. Although I had described my dream to Linda, I had to talk about it again from the beginning. I really hate to do this but I had no other choice.
"Fine!! Well, as usual, the same.....a group of guys chased after me, and I ran into a bridge, and there was a car coming from the opposite direction and hit me. I fell into the river and someone screamed my name loudly. And, that's it." I finished describing my dream to Linda for the millionth time, she nodded her head and looked back at me.
"Do you recognize anyone in the dream? Like, someone you have met or heard." I tapped my foot on the ground and thought about it, I can't recall any single face I saw in the dream, because in my point of view I was running away and falling into the river.
"No, I guess I didn't make any interaction with anyone in the dream. Just pure actions....no no no, violence action." I gulped hardly when I remembered that the guys were having huge guns on their hands.
"Ok, so who was the person who called your name?" I closed my eyes and recollected the moment when I was falling into the river, the voice wasn't that clear but it was loud enough to let me hear it. "No, I couldn't recognize the voice or person's face, but it's definitely a male's voice."
"Hmmm, I see. Wait, do you even know where you were at in the dream? You said you ran into a bridge, do you recognize anything from that at least?" I frowned and thought about it, but I shook my head and told I had no knowledge or information about the dream so much.
"Ok, I know you're being clueless, so I should suggest you to be extra careful when you have that same dream again." I frowned even more when Linda suggested a weird idea to me. " What do you mean extra careful? Do you want me to dream that again? No way, Linda!!! I've had enough of it!!" I crossed my arms and looked away.
"Sivaangi, then what else can we do? You didn't even try it and you're denying it already? Just...try it out, focus on your surroundings, try to gather some information from the dream." I closed my eyes in defeat and sighed heavily again, this would be the hundredth time I sighed since the morning.
"Fine, I would do as you." I accepted halfheartedly, although I really hate the idea. Linda smiled and nodded her head, assuring me that it would be fine soon. Well, I hope it will be fine, as long as I can put an end to the dream, that would be enough.
Either way, I still hadn't a single clue about the dream. I was still curious about the man's voice who screamed my name.
Who could that man be?
