Chapter 4 - They interrupted my daytime rest

Revolution is revolution, but I never give up daytime sleep. Even if there is the raging government crisis? Shouldn't I get any sleep during the day because of this? He was interrupted by my cook Marta, who ran into the living room where I was sleeping on the sofa, shouting, "They killed him!" The figure of General Austin loomed behind the cook.

I barely opened my eyes, "Who was killed? Who killed?"

"A mass of troops in armored personnel carriers departed Fort Frederick for Fort Rupert to recapture the fort and restore order," the general Austin said.

He said that after surrendering to the superior force, Bishop and seven leaders loyal to him were lined up against a wall in Fort Rupert's courtyard and faced a firing squad.

"What? Are you crazy?" I couldn't believe it. "Who gave the order?"

"It doesn't matter anymore," he interrupted me rudely. "You're under house arrest. I'm forming a temporary military government."

"No way! Go to hell, General!"

After a leisurely lunch, I went to a government meeting. The members of the government looked depressed and whispered in the corners. Some were missing, apparently having defected to General Austin's government.

No one could really report on the situation in the country. No one knew or wanted to say who was to blame for Bishop's murder. I had the unpleasant feeling that it was our cowardly Cuban and Soviet friends did this, who loved to shoot someone defenseless.

In the evening, Marta came into the living room during dinner and said that a U.S. marine helicopter has landed at the airport. Brave Cubans run towards the Soviet embassy.

I nodded my head, I never had a high opinion of those assholes.
