Chapter 5 - Escape, chilly winds don't blow

Then the corrupt democratic media will tell that Master Leonard shamefully fled, leaving his country and people. Everything was a little different.

The fact that it's all over, I realized when I came to the meeting of the government, no one appeared except me. Sitting in my sports two-seater convertible (TVR Tasmin/350i), I rushed to the palace of Master Leonard.

I sat in the hall and trembled like a leaf. "Gotta run! The Americans have already occupied the entire coastal zone!"

Leo was calm. "Do you have a helicopter? Do you have a plan for where to run?"

"No!"

"And neither do I!"

"But if the Americans capture us here, we will be shot! They won't forgive us for Bishop's death!" I was nervous and psyched.

"Not right away," Leo grinned. "First they will condemn, and then, yes, they will shoot."

"Yes, they already have a court decision in their pocket, signed by the governor-general and approved by the Queen," I quipped.

Leo's wife, Victoria, entered the hall with two teenage daughters. The maid Alicia walked behind with two suitcases. The girls had sports bags in their hands. They calmly sat down on armchairs in the hall. Alicia looked inquiringly at Leo, he waved her that nothing was needed, and she left.

Victoria saw me with a friendly smile.

"Lady Victoria," I greeted her.

"Secretary Coard, you haven't scuttled off here yet?" Mischievous sparks danced in her eyes.

"We will fight to the end!" I said bravely.

"Oh, okay, don't tell me this ridiculous nonsense," she waved her hand.

There was an uneasily silence in the hall.

The thunder of an approaching helicopter was heard in the sky. Crap! This is the Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion! The helicopter landed in a clearing in front of the palace. Several Marines jumped out of the helicopter, led by a lieutenant.

"Well, now we're eventually fucked down," I thought fearfully.

The lieutenant saluted Leonard. Leonard boarded the helicopter with his family, the lieutenant assisted Victoria and his daughters on boarding and helped load the luggage.

"The Americans themselves will save you?" I shouted out to Leonard, stunned.

Leo pointed to his ears, thus showing that he did not hear me over the roar from the helicopter and waved goodbye to me. The helicopter took off, turned around and headed for the north coast.

"So, you turn out to be an American son of a bitch?" I sat down on a bench and angrily threw my cap far into the rose and begonia bushes. In the distance, a jeep with CPF fighters drove up to the gate. The gates were strong, these losers shot a little up and left apparently for reinforcements.

"Mr. Coard, help me remove the curtains, the mistress asked me to wash them," Alicia called me from a porch.

"What?!" I entered the hall in amazement. "Now the revolutionary masses will burst in here! Get out of here fast!"

"You're right!" Alicia grabbed my arm and dragged me into the basement. "There's a secret passage here, hurry up!"

Behind a secret door was a corridor. Alicia accurately closed the door behind us. After walking a hundred steps, we had to crawl further on all fours because the ceiling was lowering.
