Few minutes after, Carlos drove into his house. His house was looking like a massive palace.
Anna suddenly remembered her childhood about the Witch and The sunken palace under the sea and all of a sudden, this palace seem to have the same striking resemblance with it.
She did not say anything at all to Carlos. While the house looked like it, the house was also different from it.
Carlos turned towards Anna and said: "This is my home..."
Anna glared at him and thought.
What a man. He didn't even welcome me like a normal person would.
She still glared at him until he stepped out of the car and started to enter the house, not even caring at all about her.
Anna gasped.
What a rude man! Shouldn't he have opened the door for me? Ahh, my bad. He's not supposed to be in love with me, still... he's supposed to act like a gentleman.
She opened the door and entered the house. But, she was shocked.
The house was looking so spacious on the inside, almost as if the house was scanty. She almost expected this house to be family house and also expected kids to be running around, and aunts and uncles, shouting at them. However, what she heard is the noise made by crickets and then, absolute silence.
Anna's expression was solemn. It seems that she regrets this. It would have been better to live with Trisha, at least it is always lively back there with just the two of them or even Trisha's parents.
Anna calmed down and made her way into the house, from the hallway into the living room. Anna glared at the walls, the medieval feeling it gave to her was so intense that she couldn't help but search for Carlos.
However, her eyes wandered over to the photo frame on the wall and she saw Carlos.
She walked closer to it and stared at the man who stood with his poker face so glaring.
What would it feel like to see him smile genuinely? Anna wondered. The imagination alone caused her body to warm up.
By the left side of the wall, she saw another photo frame and smiled brightly. It was still a picture of Carlos, however Carlos voice brought her back to reality.
"This is the contract."
She turned sharply and stared at Carlos with a black file and he pulled out a plain sheet of paper from it different from what she recognized from Jennifer Lawrence's contract paper. He remembered that Jennifer's papers were thick with gold and a stamp from the court. But hers was a plain white sheet with no stamp. It doesn't even have any golden color or thickness. This made Anna wonder why.
She moved closer to him and said: "Is this the actual contract? I saw Jennifer Lawrence's contract papers. Why is mine so plain and useless. Is it because am not a celebrity like she is?"
Carlos did not care. "You can take it anyhow you want to, I don't care. But I hope that you will read the content of the contract before signing."
Anna took the papers and looked into it, but her face squeezed into a frown when she read the first line. She continues to read.
"Annabel Liam must live with Carlos Bill. Annabel Liam must work as Carlos Bill's secretary, no matter what. Annabel Liam must not ask Carlos Bill to love her for any reason. Annabel Liam will obey what Carlos Bill tells her to do, even if it means becoming intimate with him, she has no right to object..."
Anna paused at this point and glared at him suspiciously. But he urged her continue and she did.
"Curfew starts at 6:30pm, Annabel Liam must not be late for any reason or else she would be punished. Annabel Liam must abide to the rules or else incur the idea of punishment. However the moment she demands to be loved, the contract becomes null and void,"
Anna stared at him and said:
"I really hope you won't love me!"
Carlos was serious. "I won't, it's a promise. Just sign the contract."
Anna immediately signed on it and returned the papers back to him.
Carlos stored the papers away into his pockets, and Anna's brows furrowed.
"Is that not supposed to be in the briefcase?"
Carlos froze. However, he stared at her, his face calm and unmoving. He said:
"It doesn't matter. You're actually just here because you have no choice. The contract has been signed and there's no need going back. However, you must not expect me to love you, I Carlos Bill does not do love..."
Anna also nodded in satisfaction. If he won't love her, then she would happily do what she wants until she finally dies.
Carlo's eyes were extremely cold that the small petite girl shivered under the weight of his heavy aura.
"The day you demand for my love, that day would be the last for our relationship! I hope I've made myself clear?"
She, Anna nodded as she gulped. His aura is actually so terrifying. What a man!
He smiled and slowly pulled her in for a hug. When their bodies connected, both of them froze. It was as if an electronic current just got shot into their body, soul and spirit and could only enjoy the comfort it brought from within.
Anna quickly pulled away unwilling, and Carlos smiled at her. "Congratulations! We would go out on our first date tomorrow."
Anna was suddenly excited. One of her dying wishes is to experience the feeling of dating. And Carlos had just made mention of taking her out tomorrow on their first date.
"Annabel, follow me and I'll show you to your room."
Anna glared at him and followed him. But she did not stop talking, "how did you figure out what my name is? I don't remember saying it to you."
Carlos did not turn back or even spare her a glance, rather he said; "I have my ways." And that was it, he did not say anything else.
Carlos pushed open a huge door and glared at Anna. "Go in!"
She obeyed and walked in. Carlos walked in with her. Anna's eyes widened seeing the numerous shopping bags that sat atop the massive king-sized bed.
"Those are cloths and shoes for you. I got them two days ago."
Anna's eyes widened.
"Two days ago? That was when Mr Olsen drugged me. It was the next day we discussed about coming to LeSnore's hotel? How did you get it two days ago when you've already rejected me then?"
Carlos glared at her, not wanting to reply, but had too.
"It's actually a matter of choice. I knew you will come back again to persuade me, so I had to be prepared, and my preparations were just fine."
Anna was amused. This man!
