Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: This Time, I, Danzo, Just Want to Be a Good Person

The Ninja World, the Land of Rain.

This land has always been a battleground for the three great nations—Fire, Earth, and Wind.

The shadow of war still hangs heavy here. The thunder sounds like the angry cries of the dead, and the rain seems like the country's tears.

But even in this broken world, there are people who try to fix it. Under the dark clouds, an old man from Konoha sets up a tent and a light, offering shelter to the wandering children.

"This is for you, Akemi."

"Don't fight over it, Shou. This one's yours."

"Watch out, don't fall…"

The old man has bandages around half his face, with a scar on his chin. His wrinkled face is filled with a kind smile, like a lighthouse in the rain. The children, dressed in ragged clothes, take the buns from him with bright smiles and bow in thanks.

"Thank you, Grandpa Danzo!"

"No need to thank me, hurry home!"

Danzo smiles fondly. If people who had been harmed by Root saw this, they'd be shocked. But Danzo enjoys these moments. Every time he gives out a bun, a sound appears in his ear:

[Detected gratitude from Akemi, gaining 1 skill point]

[Detected gratitude from Shou, gaining 1 skill point.]

[Gained...]

Yes, this Danzo is a transmigrator. About a month ago, when Shimura Danzo arrived in the Land of Rain, he became seriously ill, and a soul from the Earth took over his body. As a transmigrator, he got his golden finger—the Good Person System.

This system lets him gain skill points and skill packages by receiving gratitude from others. The first includes things like ninjutsu, secret techniques, or special abilities. The second can improve his physical abilities or upgrade his skills. That's why Danzo is in this unnamed town in the Land of Rain.

A month ago, there was a fierce battle between Iwa and Suna Ninjas in this town. It almost got completely destroyed. After Danzo arrived, he began giving food to the children and treating the town's injured. He told them strange stories, taught them geography, and helped them learn how to survive in this chaotic world. As a result, the people began to respect him.

No one expected that the powerful Shimura Danzo—once known as the [5.5th Hokage], [Pot Shadow], [Kunai Susanoo Master], [Bridge Destroyer], [Sharigan Collector], [Uchiha Slayer], and [Darkness of Shinobi]—would end up trying to be a good person. Fate really does have a sense of humor.

Danzo sighed quietly as he was packing up to leave. Suddenly, a little girl ran up to him and shoved a pink hairpin into his hand.

"Bandaged Grandpa, this is for you!"

Danzo raised an eyebrow in surprise and smiled as he patted her head.

"Thank you for the gift. I hope you're happy every day!"

The girl tilted her head, her face lighting up with a big smile.

"Hehe, Bandaged Grandpa, I hope you're happy every day too!"

Looking at the hairpin, Danzo felt like maybe this life wasn't so bad after all.

After finishing a long day of work, Danzo finally returned to his tent.

"Lord Danzo," a ninja wearing an animal mask appeared in the tent, kneeling respectfully before him.

Danzo glanced at the Root ninja in front of him, his brow furrowing slightly.

"Tatsuma, how many times have I told you? No kneeling in front of me!"

Hearing this, Aburame Tatsuma, the Root member, lowered his head even further.

"I've relayed this command to all other Root members, but please allow me to express my personal respect for you, Lord Danzo."

Danzo sighed, feeling a mix of admiration and frustration. He couldn't deny Tatsuma's competence—at least in terms of discipline, he was top-notch.

He sat down on a nearby chair and asked, "What's the matter?"

Aburame Tatsuma was a core member of Root, so his appearance here could only mean there was something important to report.

As expected, Tatsuma spoke immediately, "The leader of the Rain Ninja Village, Hanzo of the Salamander, wishes to meet with you."

Danzo raised an eyebrow. "Hanzo, that old man, finally can't hold back anymore?"

Danzo glanced outside the tent through a small crack, observing the children playing carefree in the mud. He sighed, a hint of reluctance in his expression. Truthfully, he found this peaceful life rather enjoyable. But in his current position, such peace couldn't last. There were more pressing matters to attend to.

"I understand. Tell him I'll visit the Rain Ninja Village soon."

"Understood."

Tatsuma stood up immediately.

"I'll take my leave now."

"Wait."

Danzo called out just as Tatsuma was about to use the Body Flicker Technique to leave. He poured Tatsuma a bowl of hot soup and handed it to him.

"It's cold outside. Drink the soup before you go."

Tatsuma seemed momentarily taken aback, clearly not expecting such an action from his leader. However, he quickly removed his mask and drank the soup in one go. The warmth spread through his body, making him feel revitalized.

"Thank you, Lord Danzo. I'll be going now."

This time, Danzo didn't stop him. He patted Tatsuma's shoulder gently.

"Stay safe."

Aburame Tatsuma lowered his head further, offered his farewell, and vanished with a speed noticeably faster than usual.

[Detected Aburame Tatsuma's gratitude!]

[Gained skill package: Insect Clone.]

[Gained 1 skill point.]

Danzo let out a small smile as he sat back in the chair. His remaining eye glowed faintly as he looked at something no one else could see—his system panel.

Danzo's skill package was impressive, considering his background as the disciple of the Second Hokage and an elder of Konoha. He had a particular talent for Wind Style, making him one of the few ninjas in Konoha who excelled in it. His proficiency in Sealing

Techniques was also noteworthy, as demonstrated by his control over techniques like Root's Tongue Curse Root Cleansing, the Self-Inflicted Curse Binding Technique, and the Four Symbols Seal that trapped an entire bridge.

Sealing Techniques were notoriously difficult to master, not something everyone could learn easily.

Of course, Danzo's trump cards were the transplanted cells from Hashirama and his Sharingan. The former granted him the rare Wood Style bloodline, though he couldn't yet fully control it. But it was still a powerful card to hold. The Sharingan, on the other hand, was still incomplete. Danzo had only transplanted one of the Uchiha's eyes, not an entire arm's worth. Furthermore, he had also encountered the forbidden Uchiha technique—Izanagi.

All in all, his talents were impressive, which explained how he became the disciple of the Second Hokage. Now, with 1002 skill points at his disposal, Danzo would have to carefully plan how to allocate them.
