Chereads / Danzo : This Time I Want to Be a Good Person / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: What the Hell is Danzo's Conspiracy?

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: What the Hell is Danzo's Conspiracy?

Danzo, deep in thought, opened the system's description once again.

[This system is the Good Person System, designed to cultivate the host into a morally upright individual. The user can earn skill points and acquire skill packages by helping others and gaining their gratitude.]

[The host can use these skill points and packages to increase their strength, enabling them to help even more people.]

[The cost to upgrade [Attributes], [Talents], and [Skills] at the D, C, B, A, and S levels are 1, 10, 100, 1000, and 10000 normal skill points, respectively.]

[Each level of [Attributes] and [Talents] consists of three sub-levels. [Skills] have no sub-levels.]

[Golden skill points can bypass these level restrictions and directly upgrade [Attributes], [Talents], and [Skills]. The probability of obtaining them is random, and characters with greater influence on the world line have a higher chance of generating golden skill points.]

[The drop rate and quality of skill packages depend on the gratitude the target has towards the host. The higher the gratitude, the better the quality and higher the chance of dropping useful skills.]

In other words, the 1002 normal skill points Danzo currently possessed could at most upgrade one A-level skill or attribute.

Alternatively, he could allocate them to enhance his attributes—[Strength], [Body], or [Chakra]—pushing them all to A-level.

One option would maximize his strengths, while the other would shore up his weaknesses. The decision was a tough one.

Just as Danzo grappled with this choice, a sharp pain surged through his right arm.

In an instant, the Hashirama cells transplanted into his body began to voraciously absorb his chakra, triggering a violent process of division and growth.

The cells rapidly transformed into plant cells, and numerous branches burst through the bandages on his arm, growing wildly.

"Damn it!"

Danzo's Sharingan flickered, and his powerful ocular power poured out, desperately trying to suppress the rebellion in his arm.

Since the Hashirama cells had been transplanted, these outbursts had become a regular occurrence.

However, this time, it was more intense than ever, and even his Sharingan struggled to control the surge.

The cells exploded with a ferocious vitality, with branches and buds growing rapidly.

Looking at his right arm, now covered in thick branches and fresh leaves, Danzo's face darkened in frustration.

Hashirama used Wood Release to conquer the world, but here he was using it for... landscaping?

This was definitely not the intended purpose...

This unstable Wood Release was no boon; it was a burden.

He couldn't fight with his arm ripping open, exposing a green, leafy mess for others to see. That would be too embarrassing.

He had to find a way to stabilize the Hashirama cells.

Using the Sharingan was not an option. There was no war, no clan extermination now—where would he get so many Sharingan?

In the past, Danzo might have taken advantage of an opportunity to eliminate a few Uchiha and collect their eyes, but now, he had turned over a new leaf. The old Danzo was gone.

So, with few options left, he finally settled on another course of action. After considering it deeply, he made a decision:

"Let me test your limits, system."

"Allocate the points!"

As Danzo poured his skill points into the [Wood Release Talent], a surge of energy flooded his body, gathering in his right hand, which was filled with Hashirama cells.

In a mere instant, Danzo could feel a dramatic change in his arm.

The green branches and leaves began to retract under his control, slowly returning to normal.

If the Hashirama cells had once acted like unruly rebels, ready to revolt at any moment, they now behaved like well-fed, obedient soldiers.

Even without actively suppressing them, the cells would no longer go rogue.

"Tsk, so the reason I couldn't control the Hashirama cells before was because my talent was lacking?" Danzo muttered, scratching his forehead.

Danzo couldn't help but think to himself—after all, these were the cells of the God of Shinobi and the Reincarnation of Ashura. With his previous talent, it was normal for him to be unable to control them.

But who was this "Shimura Danzo" in his past life? Just an insignificant ninja in the world of shinobi.

'I'm determined to become the benevolent, sunny old man of the ninja world!'

Danzo was confident that with his charitable nature, unyielding effort, and the system's small yet helpful guidance, he would be able to surpass Tobirama and Madara, ultimately becoming the strongest person in the ninja world.

After indulging in this pleasant daydream, Danzo snapped back to reality, satisfied with his thoughts.

Now that he had resolved the unstable issue of the Hashirama cells, it was time to leave this place and head to the Hidden Rain Village.

He opened the tent and looked at the children playing in the mud. His previously joyful mood, boosted by his recent upgrade, calmed down again.

Once he left here, these children would return to their own fates. Perhaps tomorrow, they might die in the aftermath of a ninja battle, or grow up carrying hatred, causing even more suffering in the world...

They were as fragile as a blade of grass, so easily uprooted with the slightest mistake.

But they were also as resilient as a blade of grass, capable of surviving even in the cracks between rocks.

"This damn war..." Danzo muttered under his breath, before choosing to leave silently.

A few days later, in the Hidden Rain Village, the leader, Hanzo of the Salamander, looked at the intelligence handed to him, his expression one of disbelief.

"Are you joking with me? You're telling me that Shimura Danzo, that guy, is helping the refugees of the Land of Rain without any compensation?"

"Lord Hanzo, this is what we saw with our own eyes," several rain ninjas reported with wry smiles.

Although they were reluctant to believe it, they had indeed witnessed the so-called Darkness of Shinobi, Danzo, assisting the victims of the Land of Rain. Not only was he distributing food for free, but he was also bringing medical supplies to treat the wounded.

Seeing the grateful expressions on the faces of the refugees, anyone would have thought that Danzo was the leader of the Hidden Rain Village.

Hanzo, wearing heavy armor and a gas mask, narrowed his eyes in confusion as he processed the report.

His fingers drummed anxiously on the table, a clear sign of his inner agitation.

What kind of world was this?

The notoriously ruthless Shimura Danzo was actually doing good deeds?

No, there had to be a hidden agenda behind this!

"Hmm..." Hanzo rubbed his brow, unable to make sense of why Danzo would act this way.

Was he pretending to be a good person?

There was no need for that!

Everyone in the ninja world knew Danzo's methods. No matter how much he pretended, no one would believe it.

If he was trying to win the Hokage position or gain fame, he should be doing good deeds in the Land of Fire, not in the Land of Rain!

Damn it, what is that bastard plotting?
