Chapter 2
Letters from Hogwarts
One morning, Julian was practicing chakra when he heard a knock on the window. He opened his eyes and saw a grey owl pecking at the glass outside.
Strangely, there was something tied to the owl's leg, something like a letter. A letter? The owl actually brought him a letter, who raised the Ninja Beast?
Wrong! A sudden reaction to this image arose in Julian's mind. He felt as if he had seen an owl delivering a letter somewhere, but where exactly?
Accustomed to ordinary life, Julian suddenly felt that if he accepted this letter, a door to a new world would open before him. This feeling was so strong, as if something familiar was slipping away from his memory, like amnesia.
Julian calmed down and opened the window so that the owl with the letter could come in. Looking at the owl standing on the table in front of him, he suddenly saw a glimmer of humanity in its eyes.
The owl looked at Julian and lifted its paw with the letter attached. As Julian reached out to pick it up, he noticed the envelope was made of heavy parchment, with emerald green ink and a coat of arms surrounded by lions, eagles, biters and snakes. The feeling of familiarity with this sign grew stronger.
He read the letter, besides the Hogwarts sign, there was his address:
ing london sari
77 Welsh Road
Woolis Orphanage 2nd Floor
Mr Julian Woolis
Julian tore open the envelope and took out the contents.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (President of the International Federation of Magic, President of the Wizarding Association, First Class Wizard of the Order of Sir Merlin)
Dear Mr. Vulis:
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to study at Hogwarts. Attached is a list of required books and equipment. The term will begin on September 1st. We will be waiting for your reply by July 31st.
Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Provost.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
[Uniform]
For first year students it is necessary:
1. Three sets of simple work robes (black)
2. One simple peaked hat for everyday wear (black)
3. A pair of protective gloves (dragonhide or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black with silver buckle)
...
Students can bring an owl, a cat or a toad.
Parents are reminded that first-year students are not allowed to bring their own brooms.
Looking at the contents of the letter, Julian stood there for a few minutes in complete bewilderment before slowly coming to his senses.
"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? So the energy in my body is magical power. It seems I'm going to visit this "Hogwarts". Something seems to be pulling me there."
Julian knew what magic was, although this knowledge and understanding existed only in Anna's tales, and he considered it just fiction.
But he would never have thought that magic really existed, and he did not doubt the authenticity of the letter, because looking at the weak illusion or magic on the paper of the letter, Julian knew that it was not a prank (it is said that Hogwarts puts a little magic on letters for Muggles to convince the Muggle and his parents that the letter is genuine).
He took out a piece of paper, took a quill and wrote a reply in which he expressed his willingness to study at Hogwarts, and also asked where he could buy the books and materials from the list and how to get to Hogwarts.
After he tied the answer to the owl's leg and fed it some bread crumbs, he released the bird outside.
After some time, the owl returned and brought another letter from Hogwarts.
Dear Mr. Vulis:
I am very pleased to hear from you. We will soon send someone to help you purchase the necessary books and materials for your college studies. Please wait.
Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Provost.
Julian put the answer away and tidied himself up, then pulled out all his savings (he worked part-time as a milk and newspaper delivery boy while he was doing gymnastics) - 4,000 pounds (though there were those who robbed the rich to help the poor. He robbed the rich for five years, and gave most of it anonymously to an orphanage).
An hour later there was a knock at the door. Julian got up and opened it, and saw Mr. Woolis, the manager of the orphanage, and an old man with a long white beard.
"Julian, this is the headmaster of Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledore, he has come to take you away."
With these words, Dean Woolis left the room, leaving space for Dumbledore and Julian.
"Hello, Mr. Woolis. Professor McGonagall must have explained to you beforehand, I have come to collect you to prepare the necessary things for your studies."
Dumbledore said this quickly.
"Oh, I beg your pardon, sir, I would like to say goodbye to my friend first, is that possible?"
"Of course, I guess friendship is very important to us, right?"
Having received Dumbledore's permission, Julian approached Anna's door and told her that he was leaving for boarding school.
The little girl had red eyes and a hoarse voice and kept telling Julian that he should think about himself and communicate with her often.
Julian promised Anna many times until she closed the door herself, and, looking sadly at Dumbledore, he made it clear that they could go.
"You have a very good relationship, right? It's obvious that she cares about you."
"Yes sir, Anna is like family to me, she is my sister, like Sasuke."
Julian added to himself that after living together for five years, only Anna in the orphanage was his family. Although he didn't say it outright, in his heart there was no difference between Anna and Sasuke.
As if seeing his sadness, Dumbledore said with consolation:
"Don't be so sad, child, you can come back to her at Christmas, and I don't think you'll be away from her for long."
Dumbledore looked at Julian with a sly smile, but fell silent.
"Okay, sir, is there anything I need to prepare?" Julian asked, collecting his thoughts.
"Oh, of course, you need to prepare your clothes. I think you won't come back here next time. It's best if you pack all your things. However, I can help you so we can do it faster."
With that, Dumbledore waved his wand and Julian's clothes quickly flew into his trunk, neatly fitting inside.
"This is amazing, is it magic?" Julian sighed.
"Oh, yes, it is magic, it is very attractive, isn't it? I believe that magic will be a part of your life in the future. Of course, it is better not to use magic unnecessarily, abuse of magic can lead to many unnecessary consequences. Oh, I apologize, Mr. Woolis, perhaps now is not the time to talk about this, excuse the grumbling of an old man."
"No need to worry, sir, these are useful tips, I will remember."
"This is really great, let's go, it's time for us to go on an adventure with the goblin lady."
Having said this, Dumbledore led Julian to the exit of the orphanage and headed towards Charles Cross Road.
In fact, Wales Street, where Julian lived, was very close to their destination, Hogwarts. The Running Cauldron was located just three blocks away.
"Sir, how did you convince Headmaster Woolis of the existence of Hogwarts?" Julian asked as they walked.
"Oh, Mr. Woolis, you must know that, apart from a very few Muggle leaders who are aware of us, we wizards are hidden from the Muggles. So many of our little wizards from the Muggle world are usually brought by their college professors to enter the wizarding world. It is not quite a simple matter to just take you to buy the necessary things for school, it is also an important part to convince the little wizard's family. Magic is so wonderful and fascinating, I think you will understand this, Mr. Woolis, in the future."
"Okay, professor, and what should I buy it with? You know, I'm an orphan, life in an orphanage is not very good, although it solves the problem with food and clothing, but I think that Director Vulis does not have much extra money for my education."
"Don't worry, little ones. We have special help for situations like yours. Although it's not much, if you buy a few used textbooks, it will last you a year. But the money is at Gringotts, we'll get it for you now, so don't worry about it. Ah, Mr. Woolis, here we come."
