Silas'a POV
As I called him, he didn't answer.
I lowered my phone from my ear and glanced around. It was too quiet. I knew this was a hospital, but still, the silence felt like it was staring at me.
As I walked through the corridor, my footsteps echoed in the emptiness. After a moment, I returned to the room, and my eyes immediately went to Jeren, who was still in the same position as before. I sighed and sat beside Evan again.
Life is really unpredictable—you never know what's going to happen and when…
The next day, when I opened my eyes, I found myself lying on the couch. A grey-colored blanket covered me. I sat up, yawning, and cracked my stiff neck.
Just then, a commotion from outside reached my ears.
The room door was locked, and there was no one inside except me and Evan. I got down from the couch and glanced at Evan—he looked better, but he still hadn't woken up.
