Silas's POV
I froze there because I had no idea what to do. I was smiling at the lady, but my smile was strange—it was fake. While looking at the lady, I shifted my gaze forward.
The king was staring directly at me. Did he already figure out that I'm from the enemy pack?
Just by looking into his eyes, I could hear the thudding of my own heart—I was that scared.
But I had to get out of here first; I would think about the rest later. Just as I was about to get off the bed, I felt the lady's hand on mine. I immediately looked at her.
"Thank you for helping me, but I think I should go back now." But even if I left, where would I go? If I returned to my pack, I'd have to face Ciel and Zarek, which I definitely didn't want.
"Where do you think you're going? Your head injury hasn't healed yet." The lady said in a very sweet tone, making it impossible for me to get off the bed, so I stayed sitting there.
Suddenly, the door swings open, drawing everyone's attention. A slender figure steps inside—an omega. A delicate frame, fair white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes.
He was dressed in an oversized black shirt and black shorts, which were hidden under the length of the shirt, making it seem as though he was wearing only the shirt. The omega truly looked like an angel.
Why didn't the Moon Goddess make me like that? If she had, Zarek would have never betrayed me.
For the first time, I was seeing such a beautiful and cute omega. But I couldn't deny feeling a little jealous that I wasn't as attractive as him. That's why I couldn't take my eyes off him.
Just then, the lady sitting beside me stood up and walked straight to the omega, gently taking both his hands in hers.
"Orian, you're awake, darling. Did you sleep well?" she asked, running her hand over his head with a nurturing expression.
The omega, Orian, hugged her in return, showing affection like a child would toward their mother.
It seemed like Orian might be their son because the king was also looking at him with a smile. It looked like such a cute and loving family.
As I watched them, I couldn't help but feel a pang of longing. I hadn't seen anything like this in my own family for years.
Looking at Orian's hair, I was reminded of Teren, my twin brother. If he were still alive, he would have been as beautiful as Orian, because he was incredibly cute as a child.
Then, Orian's gaze met mine. I hadn't even realized I had been staring at them for so long. After noticing me, he gave me a smile, and then he turned his attention back to the lady.
"Mom, who is he?"
Anyone would ask the same question if they saw an unfamiliar face in their home. But what worried me was the possibility that he might ask which pack I belonged to.
For a moment, I thought to myself—there's no need to mention my pack. I'll just say I'm a rogue.
"Orian, come on, you must be hungry. Let's talk while having breakfast."
The lady took Orian with her out of the room, and I couldn't help but keep watching them as they left. Just then, the king walked toward me.
"You still need some rest. Go ahead and relax."
His voice was neither cold nor harsh, but I still felt a shiver run down my spine.
"If you need anything, the bodyguards are standing outside the room. You can ask them."
With that, the king left immediately, not even giving me a chance to reply.
Everyone left the room, and I was left alone in that four-walled space with my loneliness. But then I thought, maybe I should get some rest.
So, I lay down, closed my eyes, and began thinking about what to do next. But before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.
I'm not sure how long I had slept, but when I woke up, I noticed that it was dark outside the window, meaning it was already evening.
I quickly got out of bed and pulled on the handle to open the door, only to realize that it was locked from the outside.
"Is anyone out there? Open the door!"
I started banging on the door and shouting loudly because they had locked me in there. How could I sit quietly in a situation like this?
But then, a voice came from outside. "What do you want? Why are you banging on the door and shouting so loudly? It's night, can't you see?"
No, for me, it was still morning. Obviously, I could tell it was night, but if they hadn't locked the door from the outside, this wouldn't have happened.
"Open the door, right now!"
My voice kept growing louder. I could hear murmurs from outside. There were only two people standing outside the room, and as the king had said, they were probably bodyguards. But why weren't they opening the door?
What was the point of locking me in the room? Could they have figured out that I'm from an enemy pack?
I started banging on the door harder, determined that either they would open it for me, or I would use my powers to break out of this room. No one could keep me locked up.
"What's going on here?"
A new voice spoke, addressing the bodyguards. I didn't know who it was, but as soon as they arrived, a calm fell over the outside.
So, I continued banging on the door even louder from the inside. I was shouting loudly, saying that even if I had to wake everyone up in the middle of the night, I wouldn't back down.
"Whose horses are running wild like thi
s?" the person said, and just then, I heard the sound of the room's lock unlocking.
