The old man took off his cap and showed me his face.
He didn't have a face—instead, there was only a glow on his head. His hands were the only skin visible, and they looked like those of an old man. His voice was the same.
The man said, "I am surprised there is someone alive in this world who can see me."
I stepped back, eyes widening. "What are you?"
The man started walking towards me, speaking as he did. "Have you ever heard of an Unexister?"
My eyes went wide in shock.
"Unexister?" I muttered. "I've read about those in books. They are creatures who were once human. If they die and their will for revenge is strong enough, they can defy the rules of nature and reality to keep themselves alive. But they can never leave the place where they used to live. And the only person who can see them is either the one they want to take revenge on or… a god…"
The old man spoke again. "You are not the one I am looking for, but still, you can see me. Must be some god-like powers or something inside you, boy."
I spoke cautiously, trying to keep my distance. "I don't know how I'm able to see you, but… you don't have to attack me anymore."
The man laughed darkly. "No, no, no. It's been so long since I've talked to anyone. Let me just have some fun."
He vanished from sight in an instant and appeared behind me, raising his fist to punch me. I dodged the strike just in time, stepping back quickly.
"You're quite fast, huh? Then let's see how fast you really are!" The old man raised his hand and called out, "Death Bolt!"
He clapped his hands, and a red lightning bolt shot toward me with incredible speed. It broke the sound barrier with such force that the ground behind it exploded into dust. The attack came toward me faster than I could blink, and I was struck directly. The force sent me crashing into a tree, which split in half under the impact. I fell to the ground, unmoving.
The man watched me with cold amusement. "You survived that, huh? Then how about—"
Before he could finish, I vanished in an instant, catching him by surprise. I appeared in the sky above him, looking down as he glanced up in shock.
I raised my hand and conjured "Hell's Flame." A massive dark flame materialized around me, twisting and crackling.
"Black flames?!" the man exclaimed.
I launched the flames toward him, but electricity began to crackle around his body, and with a loud thunderous sound, he vanished again, dashing toward me.
"Death Bolt!" I shouted.
A massive, dark-colored lightning bolt erupted from my hand, striking the man directly. The explosion upon impact shook the ground beneath us. The old man was blasted into the earth, his body slamming into the ground with a thundering crash. He struggled to stand, looking at me in disbelief.
"How did he use lightning—"
Before he could finish speaking, I appeared in front of him, my eyes glowing red. The man staggered back, summoning his final attack.
"Lighting Dragon!"
He summoned a massive electricity dragon that surged toward me. I stood still, letting it strike me. The force of the attack caused a massive explosion. When the dust cleared, I was still standing, unharmed.
The old man stared, confused and sweating. "What? How?!"
He began to panic, thinking to himself. "Impossible! Earlier he got hit by my Death Bolt and was damaged! How is he still standing? No… don't tell me he… he found a way to learn and become immune to lightning magic during the fight…"
As I walked toward him, dark flames and lightning crackling from my body, the old man stood still looking at me
With a defeated expression, he knelt before me and says "I… I accept my defeat."
