I looked at Flitz, standing in the body I made from my mana, crafted from my blood and flesh. He smiled and said,
"Thanks for bringing me back to life, Lord Zeyu."
He bowed his head.
I said, "It's okay. I didn't want you to be gone either, and... why are you calling me 'Lord'?"
He looked at me and replied, "Yeah, I wonder why... Well, I think because you gave me this body, my nature is to call you my Lord. And... you can revive the dead, which means you're no ordinary human. You should be someone like a god."
I looked at him and said, "I see... Now that you're here, first, let's find some clothes for you."
I glanced down and muttered, "That's pretty big..."
He also looked down and said, "Well, you're the one who gave me this..."
I shook my head and said, "You wait here. I'll find some clothes for you."
He nodded, and I turned away. Lightning surged through me as I dashed, vanishing in the sound of thunder.
Flitz turned toward the grave and sat in front of Nisha's. "Love... sorry I couldn't save you," he whispered.
I reached a small village nearby and spotted a clothing shop. Looking at it, I thought, (Well, I don't have money, so I guess I have to steal it.)
I closed my eyes and focused. (Travel in the speed of lightning without making noise or bolts... focus, focus...)
I opened my eyes and vanished without a sound. I grabbed a set of clothes from a box so quickly that the shopkeeper, busy working on a magic machine, didn't even notice.
Returning to Flitz, I saw him sitting before the graves. I tossed the clothes at him. He dressed quickly, looked at me, and asked,
"So, Lord Zeyu, what are you going to do with me?"
I said, "Well, you can come with me and be my supporter. At least it's better than dying with all those 500 years of memories."
He smiled. "Thank you..."
I turned around and said, "Well, let's go. Try to catch up with me."
With a flash of lightning, I vanished.
He followed, using his own lightning power. As we crossed the village, Flitz glanced back at the graves and murmured, "I can really go outside now... Goodbye, Nisha."
He kept up with me and said, "Lord Zeyu, I have some questions to ask."
I stopped, landing on a rocky mountain. He landed beside me.
"What do you want to ask?" I said.
"During our battle, I'm sure you didn't know lightning magic. So how did you use it afterward?"
"Oh, you mean that?" I replied. "Honestly, I don't know. I think it's because of my ability."
"Ability?" he asked.
"Yeah, if I come in contact with a magic attack and survive, I somehow gain the ability to use that magic and become immune to it."
His eyes widened. "What?! I've never heard of such an ability!"
I shook my head. "Well, I don't fully understand it either."
"You truly are mysterious, Lord Zeyu," he said, closing his eyes. "I have another question."
I looked at him, puzzled. "What is it?"
"Why is your magic so dark? Your lightning and flames aren't natural. Lightning should be blue or red, and fire should be yellow or orange. But yours... they're both black."
I thought to myself, (He's right... Is it because I got reincarnated in another world, or...)
"Well, I don't know about that either," I replied.
He sighed. "I see. Then, can you at least show me your mana?"
"Show my mana? How?" I asked.
He stared at me in shock. "You don't know?! Lord Zeyu, how old are you again?"
"I'm 10," I replied.
His eyes widened as he screamed, "What?!"
I covered my ears. "Why are you screaming?"
"You're just 10?! I thought I was talking to an adult!"
"Hah?! Can't you tell by looking at my body that I'm a child?" I shot back.
"I thought you just hadn't grown properly!"
I punched him in the gut. He fell to the ground.
"Do you think I'm some kind of old man or something?"
He stood up, rubbing his stomach. "No, I didn't mean that... Then I guess you don't even know the basics of magic?"
"Yeah, every magic I use is something I gained through my ability."
He scratched his head. "I see... Are you some kind of monster?"
I punched him again, and he fell over.
He stood up and said, "Well, you need to learn how to control your magic. Otherwise, you'll be a walking world destroyer."
"I know! That's why I'm searching for a good place to learn magic. And by the way, can you teach me about mana?"
"Alright," he said. "Mana is the energy within an individual, representing their power and stamina. Humans can't sense each other's mana unless someone releases it, but beasts and demons can sense it naturally. However, they can only sense a small portion of someone's mana if the other person's energy is significantly stronger."
(I see... That's probably why I haven't encountered any beasts or demons in my way) I thought.
"So, how can I release my mana?" I asked.
"Focus on your heart and soul. Put 100% concentration into your magic and release it all at once."
I closed my eyes and tried. Taking a deep breath, I released my mana.
A massive dark aura and smoke burst from within me, pushing Flitz back. He screamed, "Stop!"
I opened my eyes, and the aura dissipated.
"What happened?" I asked.
He looked at me. "What do you mean, 'what happened'? Your mana's insane!"
I focused again, and the overwhelming force of my mana became apparent.
"You can revive the dead, so I assumed you had a lot of mana, but this is ridiculous! If a normal human were near you, they'd have been burned to ashes!"
Panicking, I compressed my mana. "Is this better?"
"Yeah, but never release your mana in a human settlement. You'd wipe out an entire civilization," he warned.
Sweating, I nodded. "O-okay... I'll remember that."
He sat down. "How do you have this much power?"
"I don't know..."
(Why... am I some kind of monster?)
"What are your plans, Lord Zeyu? What are you trying to do?"
"I'm trying to find the Land of Beasts," I replied coldly.
"The Land of Beasts?"
"Yeah. I'm searching for someone."
In my mind thought of the Four-Eyed Beast and the Winged Beast.
"I see..." he said.
"That's why I'm looking for information. I tried the capital, but it was too risky."
He stood up. "Let's search before it gets dark, then."
I nodded. "Yeah."
We both used lightning magic to travel and continue our journey
