Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Black Blade Gang

The next day, at ten o'clock, Blake finally exhaled deeply and opened his eyes. A hint of satisfaction shone in his crystalline blue pupils. The divine power within him had reached about half the capacity of a low-level demon. It had taken him less than four days of training to achieve this, proving how extraordinary his unique technique was.

"Ten o'clock already? It seems today is the weekend. Since it's a day off, taking Airi and Marina out shopping would be nice. Marina just got hurt, so it'll be a good way for her to relax."

Jumping out of bed and checking the time, Blake began washing up.

After tidying himself up, he left for the Akizuki household, lightly knocking on the door.

"Airi and Marina's energy signatures are together. It looks like Airi must have comforted Marina last night. Hopefully, she's recovered. But they're still not up yet? Such lazy little kittens."

Sensing the two girls' presence through his spiritual arts, Blake muttered to himself.

However, he wasn't in a hurry. Instead of knocking loudly, he simply waited quietly.

Tap—Tap—Tap—

Moments later, footsteps approached. Blake opened his eyes—not because the door had opened, but because he sensed an intense malice from a distance. This malice was even stronger than that of Masato Ono from the previous day.

"Hahaha, I can't believe you, this silver-haired brat, are standing at my house's door. I was planning to deal with Airi and Marina first before coming for you, but you've delivered yourself to me!"

Stepping into Blake's view was a pale-faced Kouzou Akizuki. His expression was dark and brooding, eerily similar to Masato Ono's. However, Kouzou's voice lacked its former strength, sounding more effeminate—almost like a eunuch from ancient times.

"He's the silver-haired brat you mentioned? And you needed us to send three men to deal with him? Kouzou Akizuki, you're too much of a coward."

Behind Kouzou stood three men in black suits and sunglasses. They exuded an aura of bloodlust rather than ordinary civility. Each held a machete, looking every bit like gangsters.

"Takahashi, don't underestimate him! Last time, he kicked down our door with just one blow," Kouzou said hastily, glancing nervously at the middle-aged man beside him.

"Hmph. Kicking down a door? That's nothing. You're making a big deal out of nothing."

Takahashi, the man addressed as the leader, dismissed Kouzou's concerns with a sneer, making Kouzou smile awkwardly.

"Are you done with your little villain performance? If you wouldn't mind taking it outside, I'd appreciate it. If you wake my girlfriends, I'll make sure you crawl away from here."

Sweeping his gaze over the four men, Blake's eyes finally landed on Kouzou Akizuki. His expression was icy cold.

"Kid, you've got guts. But to act so arrogant in front of us, the Black Blade Gang, is sheer stupidity."

Blake's sudden words made the group's expressions stiffen. Takahashi's face darkened as he gripped his machete, pointing it at Blake.

The Black Blade Gang ruled this city's underworld. Three years ago, it was just a small faction. But under the leadership of its boss, Hideki Nozaki, it gradually absorbed other underground forces, becoming the sole ruler. It was rumored to have thousands of members. Even if exaggerated, it still likely boasted five to six hundred.

Thus, a saying arose: "It's better to offend the mayor than the Black Blade Gang." Offending the mayor might land you in jail for a few years, but offending the Black Blade Gang? By morning, you'd be feeding the fish in the sea.

Having lost his manhood, Kouzou Akizuki directed all his hatred at Blake, vowing revenge. Though crazed, he knew Blake's strength. So, he used his underground connections to hire the Black Blade Gang to kill Blake in the most gruesome way.

Kouzou didn't care that this meant his two stunning daughters would become the gang boss's playthings. Having lost his manhood, he was beyond caring. All he wanted was for Blake to die—utterly and completely.

As this thought consumed him, Kouzou's expression twisted with hatred, his gaze turning venomous as he stared at Blake with the eyes of a predator.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you. After cutting off your legs, I'll rape your girlfriends right in front of you. The boss only likes virgins, so I'll have my fun with Airi first. He won't mind," Takahashi sneered at Blake.

This remark crossed Blake's bottom line. His gaze turned as cold as a winter's night, exuding an aura that sent shivers down spines.

Squelch—Clang—

In an instant, Blake's figure disappeared from everyone's sight. Before they could react, the sound of flesh being sliced rang out. Takahashi's machete fell to the ground, followed by his severed right hand, blood gushing everywhere.

Standing half a meter in front of Takahashi, Blake held a bloodstained sword in his right hand. It was clear he was the one responsible.

"Ah—!"

As the pain registered, Takahashi let out a blood-curdling scream, clutching his severed arm as he stared at Blake in terror. Gone was his earlier bravado.

"Bastard!"

The other two gang members, though terrified, weren't cowards. Spurred by adrenaline, they charged at Blake, machetes swinging.

But their efforts were in vain. Blake easily dodged their attacks. With a swift motion, his sword, imbued with a trace of magical energy, cut through the air.

Squelch—

In a flash, two more hands fell to the ground along with their weapons, blood splattering everywhere. The trio's

"Shut up, or I'll cut off your heads right now."

Hearing the screams of the three men, Blake, with drops of blood on his face, spoke coldly. The commotion had already drawn the attention of many passersby.

"—!"

Hearing Blake's words, the two men who had just lost their hands bit down hard, enduring the pain in silence. They realized they had kicked a steel wall. This seemingly young student was nothing less than a monster, and a ruthless one at that.

"Hah! Try hurting us again! If you really kill us, in no time, a hundred of our brothers will come and chop you and those two women into pieces!"

Surprisingly, Takahashi, who had been so domineering earlier, had calmed down. Gritting his teeth, he threatened Blake.

"But if you let us go now, I promise we'll never trouble you again!"

A stick followed by a carrot—Takahashi was clearly well-versed in the art of begging for his life.

Squelch—!

However, Blake merely gave Takahashi a disdainful glance before plunging the Ice Whisper Sword straight into his heart.

"Are you trying to show off your low-level intelligence? Also, for daring to insult my women, I'm already letting you off easy by not cutting you into eighteen pieces."

"Gah—!"

Hearing Blake's words, Takahashi stared blankly at the sword that had mercilessly pierced his heart. His eyes filled with unwillingness and confusion before the light in them faded completely.

This guy is a devil…!

Watching this scene, the other two men trembled uncontrollably. That merciless strike, those eyes that disregarded life—this wasn't something even they, hardened killers, could achieve. Every time they killed, their hearts raced with fear, panic, or even excitement—emotions they couldn't suppress.

But Blake? Killing was as easy as stepping on an ant—his expression didn't even change.
