During his time in CerxVille, Neil learned that the way of life there was measured by what you had and not what you could do for society. It was something that would always make him wonder what type of humans even existed in the country he was trying to hide in.
"I will not be there to pick you up from the courthouse but I will send Ali, she will make sure that nothing goes wrong and please be warned she worships you like a god of some sort."
Claire was telling Neil what to expect, she knew that he would not be happy if he was to see someone that didn't look like what he was expecting picking him up from the courthouse.
"Okay, is there anything else you need to tell me?" Neil looked at Claire who for some reason looked like she was hurrying up for something.
"You will have to make sure that there is nothing or no one who would piss you off and try to have a great day without me." Claire had a smile on her face, she was looking at Neil who didn't even act like something was going on.
Neil smiled as Claire took her leave, it was not the first time she had been worried for him like he was a child that needed constant care but there was nothing that she had ever done to make him look like a fool.
Neil prepared for the divorce, he was not going to waste time letting Rachel be part of a life she almost ruined. 'I know if I was anyone else then would have ruined me. But now it is time to make sure that I leave her life and nothing is going to make me have a relationship with someone like that."
Neil was going to make sure that nothing was out of place, it was something he would have not imagined to happen anytime soon but he had no choice but to go with the flow of things and make sure he didn't take it to heart.
'Now time to go get divorced.'
Neil got to the courthouse; he took the bus for reasons he didn't want to explain. He told Ali to come to pick him up once it was time for him to go, he saw Paul's Mercedez parked outside the courthouse. He knew what he was going to expect the moment he walked in.
"My, I almost didn't recognize you the moment you walked in delivery boy. Say who did you have to beg for the suit huh?" Paul was mocking Justin; he was looking at him like there was something he could say to him to push him to a fight but Neil was not going to be the easy one to cave like that.
Rachel was looking at Neil and she could feel there was something a bit different about but she was not sure what it was. 'It has only been two days but why do I feel like I don't know who you are anymore?'
Neil entered the courthouse; he was waiting for her to follow him so they could make sure that they didn't waste any time there. Inside the courtroom, they asked Rachel if she wanted to take half the property. She made fun of Neil saying that he had nothing in his name to even make it look like he was a hopeless man.
Neil didn't say a word but watched them try to bring him down in every word they were saying but he was not the type of person to be moved by people's words.
"So do you want to have a chance to talk it out? There is a chance you will be able to see that there is hope for the relationship." The judge looked at both of them, but Rachel didn't even let him say anything other than that.
"I don't want to go back to suffering like I did, please let us get this divorce." Rachel was looking at Neil who was still unfazed, it was like he didn't even care anymore.
The judge looked at Justin, he was expecting him to say something but the young man was not even happy that he was there wasting time asking the questions he was not even meant to ask.
Neil shook his head, he was not ready to look at them he was not even looking at them in a good way but he was trying his best to make sure that nothing was going to make him waste any more time there.
He was not even thinking of the divorce, but since it had shown up out of nowhere, he was not going to rest until everything was sorted out and he didn't have anything to do with Rachel and her family.
The divorce was swift, Rachel kept feeling that she was making a mistake but didn't want to let it bother her anyway. It was like there was nothing that would ever make her happy like she was with Justin.
"Now you are free of that man, there is no way you would ever come back home and feel like there is nothing there for you. I will always be there for you and I will always take care of you no matter what happens." Paul smiled, he was looking at Neil he knew that it would be funny if he were to make him feel angry.
"Unlike some people, I will have the money to buy you something and you will never feel bad or anything but then you don't even need to think about all those things you want to buy because I will be here buying for you.
"And oh Neil I will be setting you free from the burden of trying to keep up with all that besides you will never know what it feels like to have that amount of money."
Neil paused, he turned and looked at Paul and Erica. "Of all the people you would choose, you settled for this retard."
