As I scribbled in my journal, I couldn't help but think about how my life must seem to outsiders. "If you met me right now, you'd probably think traveling was my hobby. But the truth is, I have no say in where I go or when. We're always on the move, chasing my dad's military assignments."

I closed my journal, feeling a mix of emotions. My name is Aurora, and it's one of the few things in my life that I truly love. My parents chose it, and for that, I'm grateful.

As a military kid, I'm used to moving from place to place. My dad's job takes him all over the world, and my mom always follows. We're lucky to have the means to travel comfortably, but it's not all fun and games. I've had to switch schools and friends more times than I can count. Thankfully we were only here for the summer.

"Paris," I whispered to myself, looking out the window at the stunning cityscape. "Of all the places we've been, I think I love you the most." I was still getting used to the idea of living here, but there was something about this city that felt special.

As we arrived at our apartment, I gazed out at the breathtaking view. It was stunning.

I could hear my mum and dad being all smoochy... Those two love birds!!

My mom turned to me, beaming. "Baby, you love it, right?" It's not like they are gonna get me on a plane straight to Chicago where my friends and crush were.

I forced a smile "Yes mum, I love it. It's beautiful" (shit white Lie alert!)

The Butler took our bags inside and I rushed to explore my room. It was amazing with a view that left me speechless. Just then, my phone pinged. It was Maggie, my best friend. I quickly called her via Video call. "Heyyyy Maggie" she smiled at me "hey Chipmunk how was your trip? See any cute Chaud boy" she winked and I couldn't help but laugh. You do know your French is rusty, jus say hot please" and we both laughed. "Heyy let me show you my room"

I showed her my room and also the view " wow girlll, you are living my life. That room is like a 5star hotel" she exclaimed. "I know right, atleast I can't complain About the accomodation my parents gets for us although I'm glad that we are jus going to be spending summer here and back to London afterwards because I doubt we're coming back to Chicago" Maggie gave me her baby face "ohh noo!! Seriously... Well that's aside make sure to text me, send me streaks and please for once Aurora fall in love for once"

Maggie loved teasing me about that. I was almost 17 and still hadn't gotten my first kiss or even a boyfriend. Well the tea is that my parents barely let me out and also boys at school stay away from me because they don't want my dad's problem. What's love if you can't risk for it!! Well risk taking guy hasn't been found yet " I will... Don't worry about it" " that's it girlll... Go get em boys

In French we say "Susi s'il sons"

"Uhmm no!! Its "Allez les chercher, les gars" and we both laughed " You see it's ur destiny eat those french boys like hot breakfast" we talked more before we ended the call.

After the call, I stepped out onto the balcony, feeling the cool breeze on my face. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of excitement and possibility.

I thought back to my conversation with Maggie. She was always teasing me about finding love in Paris. I rolled my eyes, but a part of me wondered if maybe, just maybe, this city held more than just beautiful views and croissants."Paris is mine for the taking!" I declared aloud, feeling a sense of determination. Just then, a bird flew overhead, leaving a little present on my head. I groaned, laughing. "Seriously?! Im trying to be positive over here bird!! Well let's hope it's a good luck charm" I headed to the loo.
