The Gold Nugget, however, posed a challenge. How would he explain its origin? Everyone knew his parents had died on missions, and the village and clan were well aware of his financial situation. The only way to justify it would be to confess that he had access to items from another world.

Hayato gazed at the egg, his heart racing. "Does this mean I have my own summoning beast now?"
As he held the egg, warmth radiated from it. Suddenly, it cracked, and the faint sound of life stirred from within. The shell split open with a burst of light, filling the room. Hayato squinted, waiting for his vision to clear.
When the light faded, a small, adorable Monferno stared back at him.

Monferno tilted its head, its round, expressive eyes gleaming with intelligence. After confirming that Hayato was its companion, it happily leapt from his arms and began exploring the room.
"Hey, wait! Where are you going?" Hayato called, scrambling to keep up.
The mischievous Monferno was already darting around, curious about everything.
Hayato quickly retrieved the Premier Ball, holding it out. "Would you like to be my partner?" he asked nervously. Though a system product, Monferno was alive, with a will of its own.
Monferno paused, then placed its furry hand on his. Its tail flame flickered joyfully before it transformed into white light and entered the ball.
"I did it—I got a Pokémon!" Hayato clenched his fist triumphantly.
