Chereads / Serpent’s Wrath: The Age of Chaos / Chapter 2 - Getting Stronger

Chapter 2 - Getting Stronger

In the midst of a chaotic, formless world, time seemed to lose all meaning.

Maybe a thousand years had passed, maybe ten thousand, or perhaps even longer, but this chaos remained enshrouded in eternal darkness.

The God of Creation, Aether, had yet to appear.

But where Oliver was, a cyclone stretching millions of kilometers long had formed. At first glance, it even resembled an eggshell, or a hurricane.

The cyclone spun relentlessly, growing larger and more terrifying by the moment, its hunger for the surrounding chaotic energy insatiable.

The once gaseous chaos energy had unexpectedly transformed into a liquid.

This cyclone could even be seen as a vast ocean vortex...

Boom!

At the heart of the storm, a colossal serpent, its mouth wide open, devoured the energy in a continuous, ravenous cycle.

Both its body and soul grew ever stronger.

"Hm?!"

At this moment, Oliver broke free from his cultivation trance. He opened his eyes, unleashing a blinding light that seemed to pierce through the very fabric of space and time. A powerful aura surged across the chaos.

"How long has it been?"

Oliver blinked in realization. He'd been so absorbed in his quest for power that he'd completely lost track of time in the outside world.

It had likely been more than a hundred thousand years since he began cultivating this time.

"But it was worth it," Oliver thought. His massive snake eyes narrowed as he felt a terrifying surge of strength coursing through him, an overwhelming power like never before.

At that moment, Oliver was far stronger than he'd ever been!

His body, which had once been only two hundred thousand kilometers long, had now grown to two million kilometers after this extended cultivation, ten times its original size!

Such a length was enough to circle the Earth fifty times.

His enormous snake body stretched across the chaos like a vast, narrow ocean—endless.

And his growth wasn't just in size.

Dark golden scales now covered his body, seemingly infused with chaotic energy. They felt like an impenetrable armor.

Even if he faced violent chaotic turbulence, his body remained untouched.

If he had once been like a mere infant, he was now like a three-year-old—far from his weakest point.

Oliver checked his status panel.

"My stats... they've all increased by a hundred times since before! And I've also unlocked two new skills?"

Oliver felt a surge of excitement. His physical strength had grown, but his soul power had increased even faster—now twice as strong as his physical power.

In that moment, he realized his soul was strong enough to detach from his body and manifest in the chaos. With just a thought, his giant snake soul appeared in the air, radiating an ancient, noble, and chaotic aura.

Thanks to the vast energy within his soul, controlling the body of the Primordial Ancient Serpent felt effortless, almost natural.

It was as if he could tap into every ounce of power within him without waste.

Thud!

With a swift motion, Oliver swung his serpent tail, sending a ripple through the chaos. The force was so immense, it created an explosive sound, like a whip cracking through the air.

There was no sound in the chaos, but the movement of his tail shattered the silence, producing a deafening noise that seemed to shake the very fabric of the void. The destructive force was terrifying.

Whoosh!

As he swung his tail, his form flickered in the chaos—extremely agile, incredibly fast, moving like a lightning bolt.

In a split second, he covered tens of millions of kilometers, easily cutting through the chaotic winds. He seemed to glide effortlessly, like a fish swimming through the void.

"Concealment!"

Oliver's eyes narrowed as he activated his newly acquired skill. His soul aura, his body aura—everything merged seamlessly into the chaos, becoming one with the void, silent and invisible.

Even his form began to vaporize, blending into the surroundings.

This skill made him an almost invisible, terrifying force within the chaos, a god capable of evading detection by other deities. If he chose, no one would even know of his presence.

With this power, he could stealthily strike at any enemy with lethal force.

"The snake's teeth have grown sharper."

Oliver realized that his teeth had become even more menacing—crafted like mythical artifacts, razor-sharp and unyielding. The venom they contained was intense, a deep, dark black, and it radiated an aura of death.

The biting force was monstrous. With a single bite, he could probably crush a planet, devouring it whole and storing it within his being.

And the poison? It was even more terrifying—primordial and soul-crushing. Anyone bitten would suffer immediate death, even a deity would stand no chance against it. It was the kind of poison that could erase an existence without hope of a cure.

"Hm?!"

At that moment, Oliver's senses tingled. A terrifying divine presence was approaching from the distance.
