Chapter 37 - Ball gone wrong

The music pulsed through the grand hall, it thrummed in her veins, filling her with a strange sense of liberation, as if all the sorrow in her mind had been lifted, replaced by nothing but the beat of the song and the buzz of the alcohol.

Aurelia let herself go.

Her body moved with the music, swaying, spinning, lost in the allure of the night. The silver fabric of her dress clung to her form like liquid moonlight, shimmering with every turn. Around her, demons watched with burning gazes… some in amusement, others in unguarded admiration.

And then, from the sea of onlookers, a man emerged. A demon who was tall and devastatingly handsome. His eyes, a molten shade of gold, gleamed with something dark and seductive as he strode toward her.

He did not speak.
