Hades sat up, his gaze hardening. "We have to take care of this before it gets out of hand. At least he needs to get out of the way first, before we think of how to get the council from suspecting you," he said.

She knew what he meant. The demon who had attacked her, he was missing and if he spreads the word that a mortal was among them, it would cause chaos. And worse, it would put a target on her back.

Aurelia nodded. "What can we do?"

"We go to the depths," Hades said. "Where souls and demons are bound. If we find his summon, we can stop him from being a demon."

The depths of the Underworld. Even the thought sent a shiver down her spine. It was a place untouched by light, where the worst of the damned roamed and where demons were at their strongest.

She had no choice. Once again she had put him in a difficult spot because of her stupidity.
