Aurora James - POV
By the time I walked out of the bathroom, my skin was red from all the scrubbing, and I smelt like roses. I walked to my suitcase took out my workout clothes and wore them, and when I was about to walk out of the room, I heard my phone ring.
I looked for my phone, and I finally found it under my pillow. "Hello?"
"Sweetheart, how are you?" Mom's worried voice filled my ears as I took a seat on the bed.
"I am doing okay, Mom," I told her.
"I heard Alpha Alonso is in the Blue Moon pack. Is everything okay in there, dear?"
"Yes, mom. You don't have to worry about him." I told her.
"I don't think I can stop worrying about you, Aurora. He broke off his engagement with Scarlet before leaving the pack, and I heard certain members talk about how he is going to find his fated mate."
"He has already threatened to get me back." I casually said when I heard her gasp.
"You know he…"
"I know about him, Mom. But I will not let him control my life again. Please don't worry about me." I told her, and I didn't hear anything from her for a long time.
"Okay, but if something is wrong there, please give me a call, okay?" she asked me.
"Okay, I love you."
"I love you too, darling," she said as the line was disconnected. I placed my phone on the bed and walked out of my room. The pack was still deserted since the warriors who left for the main pack hadn't come back home.
As I arrived at the training ground, I saw Levi fighting with a warrior in the boxing ring, so I walked towards them. They were so engaged in their fight that neither of them noticed me till Levi pinned the warrior to the ground. I saw his eyes lock with mine, and he immediately looked away.
"You can go now. We will continue this tomorrow," he told the warrior as he nodded his head and walked out of the boxing ring. Once the warrior was out of sight, I saw Levi packing his bag, ready to leave.
"Aren't you going to speak to me?" I asked him as I walked towards him.
"I am sorry, Aurora. I…"
"What are you sorry for?" I asked him, and that question made him look at me. His face was riddled with guilt, and it pained me to see my friend in this state.
"Last night, I lost control of my wolf. I know I should have let…" Before he could finish his sentence, I placed my finger on his lips, shutting him up.
"Werewolves could never control their wolves on a full moon. And I will never hold it against you for what happened last night." I told him, but he shook his head as he gently took my hand away from his lips.
"I…"
"I don't want to hear your excuses, Levi. I have already put that past me, and I want you to do the same as well." I said in a firm tone, but he shook his head.
"You are Alpha Alonso's mate, and even if you don't take this seriously, I know Alpha Alonso would be furious when he finds out about this."
"I don't care what he thinks either. What happened last night was an accident, and you are not responsible for that. Moveover, Beta Persz stopped you before things escalated, right?" I asked him, and he nodded his head.
"I am still in a dilemma as to how he still had so much control of his wolf," Levi exclaimed when a knowing smile appeared on my face.
That's because he is my mate and due to his hatred towards me.
"So, are we still friends?" I asked Levi, breaking him from the trance.
"Are you sure about this?" he asked me, and I nodded my head as I extended my hand for a handshake, and he gladly took it. "So, what do you want to do today?"
"I want to learn some moves so that I can defend myself," I told him, and he nodded his head. I expected him to tell me that I was not ready, but he didn't say anything as we walked towards the mats that were on the floor.
Two hours later, I landed on the mat for the tenth time. Every inch of my body was hurting, and I could already feel the bruises forming. I thought I would be able to at least hold for five minutes, but fighting with Levi proved one thing, I still have a long way to go.
"I think we should start your fighting session after two weeks when you have built some endurance." Levi gently suggested, and I nodded my head as I took his extended hand and got up from the mat.
"Did I hurt you too much?" he asked me, but I shook my head.
"Nothing that won't heal in a few hours." I asserted as I made my way to his bag and took out the water bottle and took a seat on the grass. The cold water that ran down my throat was like a blessing as I placed the bottle next to me and closed my eyes.
My lungs burned with the lack of oxygen while my heart was still beating fast. I felt Levi take a seat next to me as I opened my eyes and stared out at the forest in front of us. "Aurora."
"Hmm."
"Can I say something?"
"Go on," I said while my eyes were locked on the scenic beauty in front of me. The cold forest air cooled down my heated body, while I tried to calm my heart. "Last night…"
"I told you I forgave you for what happened, Levi. Why do you keep bringing that up?" I asked him as I turned around to face him when he shook his head.
"It's not that. After Beta Perez took you out of the pack house, I had gone for a run to get my wolf under control again. By the time I came back to the pack house, it was two am, and I came up to your room to meet you, but no one was in there."
