The 8 Beasts of Calamity
Vortex – A beast created by the Wind Goddess to keep her powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Shadows – A beast created by the God of Darkness to keep his powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Rhaegion – A beast created by the God of Fire to keep his powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Grimm – A beast created by the God of Death to keep his powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Lyphe – A beast created by the God of Rebirth to keep his powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Aquessa – A beast created by the Goddess of Water to keep her powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Spryte – A beast created by the Goddess of Light to keep her powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.
Earthen – A beast created by the Goddess of Earth to keep her powers balanced in the world. It's purpose became twisted when it became a summoned beast of the Dark Lord.

The History of Gods & Beasts
Many centuries ago, the God's powers became too great, and influenced the world negatively. Just by trying to maintain the balanced of the natural order of things caused, Death, Famine, Droughts, Monsters, Earthquake, Floods, Tornadoes, and a massive influx of human life.
To combat the affects they had on the world, the Gods agreed to create a beast born from their flesh, that could contain about half of their magical powers. Unfortunately, the Gods did not account for the beasts thriving in their elements and amassing more mana and magical powers throughout the years.
To deplete the beasts of their excess mana, and restore balance once again, they summoned heros from other worlds to fight the beasts. This process continued for over 5 centuries.
Until one day, a summoner arose from the heros. The summoner hero was obsessed with power, and hungry for war and destruction. So he hunted down the 8 beasts and defeated them in battle. But instead of letting them rest and recover, he formed a contractual bond with the creatures. Making them into his summoned beasts instead.
Once they were his contracted beasts, the could no longer live for their intended purpose of creating a balance of power in the world. They lived for their new Master until he died or the contracts were broken.
Enraged by the Summoned Hero's hubris, the Gods summoned heros to fight the Summoner Hero who was renamed The Dark Lord. Summoning magic was forbidden, and the heros were tasked with defeating the Dark Lord and freeing the 8 Beasts.
After years of warring, and countless heros lost, four heros were able to seal the Dark Lord away in the Timeless Realm with the help of the God of Darkness. With their master sealed away, the Goddess of Light recognized the summoner's contracts as null & void, and freed the beasts once again.
Centuries past and the beasts were thriving in their natural habitats once more, however, they were no longer maintaining the balance. They were just accumulating power without distributing it back into the world.
Worried about what this would mean for the inhabitants of the world, the Gods desperately searched for a being capable of wielding all of their powers to fight the beasts once more.
They didn't have the time or power to summon more heros, and they didn't have the time to train more than one. Fortunately for them, there existed a child in this world who was already bathed in the divinity of the Gods.
However, when they sought him out, the child was anything but receptive...
The Gods were unaware that, in forcing their will upon another, they had triggered the path for their own harrowing future.
