Kuroba had just submitted the map he had drawn.
"There are actually 10 points!" he said, surprised.
Kuroyu was a little surprised too. The maps Kuroba drew were all of the outer parts of Chenghua Forest. They had been submitted many times, so they shouldn't be of much use.
"Is it that cave?" Kuroyu asked. The only place that could be considered hidden was the cave of the Rice Spoon Snake. If you didn't search carefully, it could easily be overlooked.
After submitting all his tasks, Kuroyu started checking the exchange list and looked at the section dedicated to the direct lineage of the alliance.
"The Breeding Manual for the Toothfish costs 200 points, the same as the price of the Lobster Soldier. I need to work harder to earn money," Kuroyu thought aloud.
Meanwhile, Black Feather had to get rid of the Rice Spoon Snake he had. He put on his black robe and went back to the black market.
Arriving at the stall area, Black Feather paid 1,000 alliance coins to rent a stall for an hour.
"Nima, the black market really makes a lot of money. I'll open one in the future," he muttered.
He took out a plain cloth and spread it on the ground, placing the Poké Ball containing the Rice Spoon Snake on it. To make it look a little better, he added a few more Poké Balls.
Next, he spent 100 alliance coins on a wooden board and wrote:
"Rice Spoon Snake, level 27, inherited Iron Tail, 400,000 alliance coins."
The message was simple and clear. The high price of 400,000 was set to leave room for bargaining.
Soon, many people came to Black Feather's stall, and offers started coming in.
"300,000. The Rice Spoon Snake is aggressive, and taming it requires some effort."
A man in a black robe made the offer.
Kuroyu thought for a moment and nodded. This was close to his expectations, so there was no need to push for a little extra.
Even though the Rice Spoon Snake had been sold, Black Feather still had about 20 or 30 minutes left in his stall rental. He decided to wait.
In the end, he only sold one of the other Poké Balls, but he earned 90,000 alliance coins in total.
Since two of the remaining proud swallows didn't sell, he packed them up and sold them to a store. After completing all his sales, he quickly left the black market and headed back to the Pokémon Center.
"Good night, Miss Joy," Black Feather greeted.
"Good night," Joy Lin replied, still busy.
Black Feather then went back to his room, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep, exhausted from the day.
The next morning, Black Feather enjoyed the free breakfast at the Pokémon Center as usual.
"At this rate, the Toothfish will evolve in less than six months. But if its foundation isn't strong before it evolves, even turning into a Megalodon might waste its potential," Black Feather thought to himself.
He decided to keep working hard to earn alliance points and not slack off.
He walked over to the self-service machine and found that many of the tasks available were either long and tedious or difficult, given his current level.
"The tasks that can earn points are either extremely hard or take forever to finish," Black Feather thought, frowning.
It seemed like the only way to earn points was by exploring the dangerous inner areas of Chenghua Forest or drawing a map of it. But he knew the real reason for this mission was for the alliance to get trainers to explore dangerous places, filling up the maps with their lives.
"I guess I'll accept this group mission and work with the police to clear out the Spiny Tail Worms near Chenghua Forest Road," Black Feather decided.
He had avoided this mission before because it couldn't be done while accepting other tasks at the same time.
"I'll do it for the league points," he thought, determined.
At the police station, Black Feather handed in his printed resume and task acceptance certificate.
"Isn't it? Even a kid applied? Are we really that short on staff?" Miss Junsha said in surprise, eyeing Black Feather.
Black Feather smiled shyly, pretending to be innocent. "No, sister Junsha, I just took the cleaning task."
His voice was soft and innocent, designed to attract attention.
Miss Junsha, with her elegant posture and confident attitude, leaned back in her chair, her snow-white legs in high heels adding to her charm. Her emerald green hair fell gracefully, and her soft fragrance filled the air.
Darian Voss noticed the golden medal on her chest and realized that Miss Junsha held a higher rank.
He continued to act shy and innocent, hoping to impress her.
"You're capable, but I see you have a Water-type Pokémon. It doesn't seem to have an advantage here," Miss Junsha said, shaking her head slightly.
Since Black Feather hadn't brought out his Toucan, which could have been useful, he couldn't take the task and had to leave.
"Well, the Lobster Soldier and Toothfish are both common in the Hoenn region, but the Toucan is from Kanto. It's not as well-known here," he thought to himself.
Black Feather was used to keeping some tricks up his sleeve. He hadn't used the Toucan because he wanted to save it as a trump card.
In the following days, Black Feather stayed at the Pokémon Center. He practiced battling with others and even made some energy blocks for emergencies.
"Alright, it's time to take the mission. Once I earn enough points, I can get the Sharp Tooth Fish Breeding Manual and leave Chenghua City," he said, taking a deep breath.
His next destination was Kanaz City. He planned to visit Dewen Manufacturing Co., a well-known company that specialized in Pokémon-related products.
"I've heard that they've developed a new multifunctional navigation product," he thought.
Kanaz City also had a gym with Rock-type Pokémon, which suited his taste.
Flipping through the Alliance Atlas, Black Feather smiled, satisfied with his plan.
