On the edge of Chenghua Forest, a black-haired boy in sportswear was running fast. Behind him, the grass shook, and a pack of gray-haired wild wolves jumped out.
It was the coyote!
These wild wolves were a nightmare for many explorers. They would chase anything that moved without stopping until their prey was exhausted.
The boy looked a bit scared but still kept running with determination.
While running, he shouted, "Lobster Soldier, use Bubble Light!"
A sky-blue bubble light appeared, shining in colorful hues under the sun. The bubbles attacked the coyotes, successfully slowing them down.
"Huff, huff..." Black Feather ran through the forest and finally stopped when he reached the road, breathing heavily.
"Star Spot Flower, it's not in vain that I risked my life for you," Black Feather said, pulling out a beautiful flower with seven petals and star-like dots.
"I never expected to find such rare medicinal materials at the edge of Chenghua Forest. No wonder it attracted so many wild wolves to protect it."
Black Feather looked excited. He knew this flower was worth at least 200,000 alliance coins. It was very rare and valuable, especially for making high-grade energy cubes.
"I won't sell it though. It's better to trade it on the black market for more profit."
He carefully placed the flower in his backpack. Although some of the roots were damaged while picking it, it could recover with a little care.
Black Feather stood up, put his backpack on his back, and started walking along the road leading out of the forest. Most of this area was safe and open for explorers, but few people came through because of the dangerous Pokémon nearby.
"People usually choose the safe paths rather than taking risks," Black Feather thought. "The Alliance also encourages people to explore dangerous areas by offering rewards for mapping them."
As he walked, he saw a sign by the road that said, "Real trainers are those who constantly open new paths in dangerous places." Black Feather chuckled. "The Alliance sure knows how to brainwash young trainers."
He wasn't interested in being a hero—he was in it for the profit.
"The trip wasn't bad. Time to head back to the city," Black Feather thought, speeding up as he left the forest.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard a voice calling for help. "Help, help, dad, come and save me..."
It sounded like a little girl. Black Feather was about to keep walking when he saw the girl running toward him.
Behind her, several green figures were flying in the sky. Their wings flapped and stirred up dust. As they got closer, Black Feather recognized them as Poison Moths.
"Not good," Black Feather muttered. He called out his Toucan and prepared to fly away, but then noticed something strange. The girl was wearing an expensive-looking watch, one he recognized.
"Wait a minute! That's the new watch from Dewen Company!" he thought. "It costs a million alliance coins! This girl must be from a rich family."
"Maybe if I save her, her family will reward me handsomely," Black Feather thought, his mind racing.
He checked the strength of the Poison Moths. Although he was tired from earlier, he felt confident he could handle them.
"Don't worry, little sister, I'm here to save you!" Black Feather called out as he ran toward her.
"Lobster Soldier, use Bubble Light!" he ordered. The Lobster Soldier quickly attacked the Moths with Bubble Light, forcing them to retreat into the forest.
Black Feather smiled inside but kept running toward the girl. When he reached her, he gently stroked her head and said, "Don't worry, little sister. The bad Pokémon won't hurt you anymore."
Tears were still in her eyes, but she looked up at him, trying to be brave. When she heard his comforting words, she broke down and started crying.
"Don't cry, little sister," Black Feather said gently, patting her back. "It's all okay now."
The girl hugged him tightly, her small hands gripping his clothes. After a while, she stopped crying and looked up at him with gratitude in her eyes.
"Brother, Xiaoyao is a brave girl, so I'm not scared," she said with a weak smile.
Before Black Feather could respond, a group of people arrived. At the front was Miss Junsha and a man with a serious expression.
"Dad!" the little girl shouted.
When the man saw his daughter in Black Feather's arms, he shouted, "Who are you? Let my daughter go!"
Before Black Feather could explain, the girl quickly said, "No, dad! This big brother saved me and chased away the bad Pokémon."
The man relaxed and said, "Ah, I'm sorry. Thank you for saving my daughter." He introduced himself as Qianli.
Black Feather smiled and said, "It was nothing. I just saw her in danger and helped her out."
He was about to leave when Miss Junsha called out, "Black Feather!"
Black Feather froze, realizing he was recognized.
