Chapter 12 - A strange woman, Anna

Sophia entered the room and immediately found a woman lying naked on the bed, her face buried in the pillow. The sight struck Sophia as odd; how could anyone be so careless as to lie exposed in a room when it was entirely possible someone might walk in at any moment?

Sensing someone had entered, the woman lifted her head lazily, her long green hair cascading over her face, falling to her round and soft breasts. She blinked, her eyes taking a moment to focus as she lazily assessed the situation.

"Good morning..." she greeted, her voice thick with sleep. Then, she took a better look at Sophia, her eyes widening as she seemed to fully register where she was. "Oh right, I'm not at home anymore," she mumbled with a nonchalant shrug.

She didn't seem at all concerned by her nakedness and continued casually, "Are you my roommate?"

Sophia's eyes widened in disbelief as she struggled to process the situation. "Get dressed first," she said, almost in a whisper.

The woman, unfazed, glanced down at her naked form and shrugged, unbothered. "We're both women, so what's the issue?" She climbed off the bed, revealing her lean, toned body — no excess fat, just a sculpted physique that spoke of great care. Her skin was flawless, her features captivating, and her form was undeniably alluring.

She moved away from Sophia, her back arching slightly as her round, perky ass swayed provocatively. She did it on purpose, enjoying the attention, before picking up her clothes from a nearby table. With a flick of her wrist, the clothes levitated into the air, floating and wrapping themselves around her body as she dressed. Sophia watched with mild indifference, having seen far more impressive displays of magic before.

Once fully dressed, the woman turned to face her again and asked, "Is that better?"

Sophia nodded, though she said nothing. The woman seemed to notice her lack of enthusiasm and smirked, deciding to break the silence.

"Hmm... now that I really look at you, you're not so bad yourself. In fact, I'd say you could be on my level when it comes to beauty. Guess I won't be the only popular girl at the academy," she added, clearly pleased with herself.

Sophia wasn't interested in that; her only reason for attending the academy was to learn more about Ravi and to visit different places. Her main focus remained the mystery of what happened to him — the real truth.

Noticing Sophia's silence, the woman sighed in exaggerated boredom and began speaking again. "You're really quiet, huh? Well, I'll tell you more about me. My dad basically forced me to come here. I didn't even want to; I just wanted to stay home, lying in bed, doing nothing. But here I am, becoming a slave for this academy. I don't even know why he insisted this time. Normally, he never tells me what to do. But enough about that. What about you? Did you come here for the money, or is it power you're after?"

Sophia, increasingly irritated by her nonstop chatter, finally snapped, her patience thin. "Will you please stay quiet for a while?"

The woman raised an eyebrow at the cold reply, but instead of pressing further, she let out an exaggerated sigh and said, "See? I knew it. You're boring. Well, if you won't share why you're here, at least tell me your name."

With a bright smile, the woman continued, "I'm Anna. I'm 17 years old, and as I said before, my dad kicked me out to come here. But I don't hate him for it; I love him dearly. He's the best... bad dad in the world!"

She was expecting some kind of enthusiastic response, but all she received was Sophia's flat tone.

"Sophia."

"Just that?" Anna couldn't hide her surprise. She'd been treated like a princess all her life, with her father melting at her every whim. To be met with such indifference was completely foreign to her.

She collapsed back onto the bed with a dramatic sigh, her face pressed into the pillow. "How am I so unlucky to be stuck with you? I imagined we'd be best friends, having fun together in the academy. But now, all my dreams are ruined."

Sophia, though irritated, opened the window and glanced outside. The city was bustling, its streets alive with the sounds of students, the air filled with youthful energy.

'Did he get a roommate too?' Sophia wondered, her mind momentarily drifting to Ravi. 'I hope he doesn't have someone like this...'

Her thoughts were interrupted by Anna's voice. "Hey, did you come here with someone?" Anna asked, eyeing Sophia curiously.

Sophia turned back, her expression neutral. "Why do you think that?"

Anna grinned mischievously. "Just a guess. I'm pretty sure I'm right. Your partner isn't a girl, or else we wouldn't be rooming together, would we? So, is he your boyfriend?"

Sophia's face flushed slightly at the mention of the word "boyfriend." Anna immediately noticed the change and smirked inwardly.

'Bingo,' she thought. 'Finally, something interesting.'

She jumped off the bed and approached Sophia, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Is he handsome? How long has it been?"

Anna wasn't about to let the opportunity slip by without making the most of it.
