"Morax, your grandpa is alive again!"
The underground ruins were filled with rubble and boiling Pyro energy. A round, bouncy figure stood in the center of a pentagram altar, cheering and jumping around excitedly.
"Once I retrieve the Visions I gave to my followers, I'll make sure you learn what it truly means to face the God of Flame!"
"And that little brat from Natlan… Ugh, I can't believe I got tricked by a Pyro spirit!"
Famas, now transformed into a Pyro Slime, kept bouncing up and down on the altar. His chubby body looked rather comical, even… a little cute.
As for why the great God of Flame, Famas, ended up here, well, that's a long story.
Famas, originally named Li Mu, was a guy from 21st-century Earth who had been grinding through Genshin Impact's newly released Dragonspine map. While busy looking for torches to thaw ice, Li Mu didn't notice the strange flashes of lightning in the night sky.
The next moment, a purple bolt of light struck him as he was engrossed in the game. To his excitement, Li Mu found himself transported to the legendary world of Teyvat, a thousand years in the past, during the chaotic era of Natlan. He became the God of Flame, Famas.
When Famas first arrived in Teyvat, he lived a life of absolute swagger. With the innate superiority of being a Pyro user and the passive buffs that came with it, the Archon War felt like a casual pastime to him. The God of Flame was, without a doubt, a being capable of rivaling the God of War, Morax.
In his spare time, Famas couldn't bear to see humans suffering and displaced. He taught them martial arts, warfare, and the art of conquest. He granted Visions to some of his chosen followers and established the war-torn nation of Natlan.
And thus, he embarked on his grandest endeavor.
That is, until a god named Morax emerged. Not only did he defeat the legendary Osial, the God of the Vortex who ruled the seas, but he also formed a contract with humanity and established the largest human nation and port in the central lands, naming it Liyue.
As a transmigrator, Famas naturally knew about this god named Morax. He had planned to avoid the legendary God of War and focus on maintaining his ancient kingdom in Natlan. However, Morax, along with a Pyro spirit from Natlan, came knocking on his door.
Famas still remembered Morax's words as they floated in the air, locked in a standoff.
"Tyrant, war is not a means of entertainment for you. Look down at your people—they have long suffered under your rule."
Morax's amber eyes burned with anger. Famas understood his meaning. He had taught humans martial arts, appointed his own generals, and waged wars of resistance to protect the displaced during the Archon War.
"Morax, war has protected more people. Look at the lands surrounding Natlan—Osial, the God of the Vortex; Decarabian, the God of Storms; and Dvalin, the Dragon of the East. No human nation is as united as Natlan!"
"United?"
Morax glanced behind Famas, and Famas followed his gaze.
"Tyrant, you killed my son."
"We don't want war; we want peace."
"Great God of War, Famas, spare the people of Natlan."
Famas heard the angry cries of the crowd below. Slave owners and generals held torches and weapons, seemingly ready to revolt against his rule.
"They don't understand… Morax, you don't understand either."
Famas launched the first attack. Six massive pillars of fire erupted, charging toward Morax. The spreading Pyro energy dyed half the sky red.
Since arriving in Teyvat, Famas had never used his full power. But now, facing the legendary God of War, he had no choice but to give it his all.
"Unbreakable."
Geo energy gathered around Morax, forming a protective barrier.
"Earthshaker."
The fire dragon collided with Morax's stone pillars, causing crystals to scatter across the sky.
A Pyro spirit quietly hid at the edge of the battlefield, absorbing the scattered Pyro energy.
"Let's end this, God of Flame."
After several rounds, it was clear neither could overpower the other. Morax, sharp-eyed, noticed the Pyro spirit sneaking into the center of the battlefield to absorb Famas's Pyro energy. A plan formed in his mind.
"Planet Befall!"
Famas felt immense pressure as the Geo energy in the air began to overwhelm his Pyro. He summoned more fire dragons and started channeling the power of the ley lines.
"Is this your strongest move, Morax?"
A massive meteor, entirely composed of Geo energy, hurtled toward Famas.
At the same time, boiling pillars of fire erupted, engulfing all of Natlan in flames.
Just as their final clash began, Famas felt a sudden drain in his power.
"What?!"
Amid the raging flames, a Pyro spirit was gleefully absorbing his Pyro energy.
"Now's my chance!"
Seizing the moment of Famas's distraction, Morax roared again.
"Planet Befall!"

"Morax, you cheater!"
Hiding in the ruins, now in his Pyro Slime form, Famas grumbled about Morax's underhanded tactics. After calming down, he prepared to leave the sealed ruins and see what era he had ended up in.
A blinding ray of sunlight greeted him.
As Famas adjusted to the light, his gaze fell upon a majestic castle situated on an island in the middle of a lake.
"Mondstadt?"
"Morax sent me flying all the way to Mondstadt with one meteor?"
"I wonder if the main story has started yet?"
Famas suddenly thought of the sibling searching for their twin, Lumine.
"Ah, I should go see Barbatos first. That wind spirit owes me a lot of money for drinks. He can't possibly ignore me, right?"
Famas looked down at his round, bouncy body and suddenly felt like crying.
Who would have thought that the once-mighty God of War, the Lord of Flames, Famas, would have a true form as a Slime?
"Once I find two Pyro Visions, I can turn back into a human!"
With renewed determination, Famas began hopping toward Mondstadt.
