Bouncing along at a leisurely pace, Famas made his way to the bridge leading into Mondstadt. The surface of Cider Lake sparkled under the sunlight, with a few plump ducks swimming carefreely in the water. Every now and then, fish leaped out of the lake, adding to the serene scene.
However, Famas's attention was drawn to a knight in armor standing by the bridge.
"Is that a Knights of Favonius member?"
Famas hid behind a bridge pillar, peeking cautiously at the fully armed knight. As a regular Pyro Slime now, he knew that waltzing into the city would likely get him labeled as a monster and promptly eliminated.
"If I die this time, there's no coming back."
Famas wobbled slightly, his round body trembling as he stared at the two knights guarding Mondstadt's gates. If he couldn't get into the city, how would he ever find Barbatos, the God of Freedom?
Just as Famas was pondering his predicament, he heard a strange chattering sound.
"!@|#%..."
Famas slowly turned his head and spotted a group of Geo Slimes.
"!@#|%%..."
The strange noises were coming from the Slimes. The one leading the pack chattered again, its words incomprehensible to anyone but another Slime.
Though Famas had once been the God of Flame, even in his current Slime form, understanding his fellow Slimes was no challenge.
The Geo Slime's message was roughly: "Hey, buddy, what's up? Trying to get into the city?"
The Geo Slime grinned smugly, its brown face radiating confidence.
"Big bro, you got a plan?"
Famas, humbled by his current circumstances, looked at the Geo Slime with curiosity and asked cautiously.
"Of course! I've gathered a whole group of brothers and sisters, and we've come up with a foolproof plan to invade Mondstadt!"
The Geo Slime's underlings bounced excitedly behind it, clearly supporting their leader's grand scheme.
"We're calling it 'The Great Round Chaos!'"
If Famas had hands, he would've facepalmed. Naming an invasion plan after a daily commission? Did they not realize how unlucky that sounded?
"So, what do you say, buddy? Want to join us? I've even recruited a few Anemo Slimes. You can team up with them for some Pyro Swirl action, and we'll set Mondstadt on fire!"
Famas stared at the chattering Geo Slime, utterly speechless. He reluctantly agreed to join the plan but quickly decided to use the chaos as a distraction to sneak into the city alone.
"Great! With you on board, our plan is even stronger! This'll be way better than our last operation, 'The Hilichurls' Small Step'..."
Famas felt a sense of dread.
"Big bro, you came up with 'The Hilichurls' Small Step' too? That daily commission... I mean, invasion plan?"
"Of course! It didn't work out, but the Hilichurl Shaman in Windrise loved it! Next time, he's going to call in a Rock Shieldwall Mitachurl, and then we'll really... hehehe."
Famas was completely done with this conversation. After confirming the time and location of the invasion, he hopped over to the edge of Cider Lake to check out his reflection.
Flames spread across the grass as Famas used the clear lake as a mirror. Staring back at him was a deep red Pyro Slime with two large, oval eyes that made him look harmless and even... cute.
"Ah, Morax! I'll have my revenge, just you wait!"
Famas gathered his strength and spat two Pyro orbs into the lake.

The Next Night
"Alright, buddy, we'll invade through the side gate. There's only one young knight named Guy guarding it. We'll scare him, then raid Mondstadt's supplies!"
Famas looked at the group behind the Geo Slime and finally understood the Slime mindset.
Behind the Geo Slime were three Hydro Slimes, two Anemo Slimes, two Electro Slimes, two Cryo Slimes, and Famas himself—a total of twelve Slimes.
"Any Vision holder could wipe us out in one move."
Famas quietly distanced himself from the group. He had no intention of getting caught in a Superconduct or Vaporize reaction.
"Brothers, charge!"
The Geo Slime led the charge, with Famas lagging behind. He could see the young knight, Guy, guarding the side gate. The knight's face turned pale as he shouted into the city, "Knights of Favonius! Alert! Slimes are invading!"
Famas, having once been human, understood Guy's words. The Geo Slime, however, mistook the knight's panic for success and gleefully spat a Geo crystal at him.
The crystal flew toward Guy, who barely managed to block it with his Dull Blade. The force knocked him to the ground, his sword flying out of his hand.
"Hahaha, let's loot everything!"
The Geo Slime shouted to the others as they rushed toward the supplies stacked inside the gate.
"Wait, where's Hertha, the logistics officer?"
Famas, who had been tailing the group, took advantage of the chaos to sneak into the city. He gulped down a few bottles of precious Flaming Essential Oil while watching the other Slimes devour raw meat. He couldn't help but feel exasperated.
"Guys, you're supposed to drink the oils that match your element!"
Famas reminded a nearby Geo Slime, who paused and then chugged a bottle of Geo Essential Oil. Instantly, its body swelled in size.
Seeing the results, the other Slimes turned their attention to the oils.
Just as Famas was about to slip away from the group and sneak deeper into the city, a tall figure with fiery red hair and a massive claymore appeared, accompanied by a petite girl in armor.
"Master Diluc, please help us deal with these invading monsters."
It was Hertha and Diluc, the Darknight Hero who protected Mondstadt.
The moment Famas saw them, a strong sense of danger washed over him.
"Run!"
Famas barely had time to warn the other Slimes before bolting for the city gates.
"Dawn!"
A fiery phoenix erupted from Diluc's claymore. Famas felt the heat on his back as the chaotic mix of Electro, Cryo, and Pyro energy intensified behind him.
