"Where are we even going?" He huffed. "We have to meet with our parents today for lunch" "But it's Sundayyy..."' Ian whined.
"Would you stop whining and get ready." I shooed him out of my room. A couple of weeks passed and we have seemed to get nowhere. We aren't even close one bit. Maybe this is just how it was gonna be from now on. We barely talk, I'm always working and so was he.
After getting ready we entered the car. I sighed. He looked at me with an annoyed face. "Sorry." I replied. He hated when I sighed, or fiddled with my fingers. I couldn't help but obey him over and over again. People seem to have that effect of me.
I barely got any sleep last night. I was working yesterday till late at night, and I couldn't sleep at all. So I tried so hard not to look like a zombie.
Suddenly I felt someone touch my hand. "We're here." He whispered. His hand was so warm.
He held it since we had to act like a couple. Our parents actually believed it. We entered the restaurant only to see them not here yet. We sat down in silence awaiting them. He was on his phone the whole time, So I just sat there in awkward silence. After forever our parents arrived. He quickly took my hand into his. This guy switches up so fast. I rolled my eyes
"Don't roll your eyes at me." He muttered squeezing my hand slightly.
"Sorry." I apologized. I greeted the parents. They just babbled about wedding details.
"Gaeun, did you get that?" My mother asked.
"Hmm?" I questioned since I wasn't paying attention.
"You will meet with us next week for another bridal fitting, and both of you need to decide or a venue." His mother informed with excitement.
"We will take care of everything else." My father spoke. I nodded in agreement. I can't even plan my own wedding. I sighed as sadness flushed my face.
"Gaeun, honey you look so tired," his mother pointed out.
"Oh, I'm fine just, work." I brushed off the topic.
After a lunch that felt like an eternity, it was finally over. Ian and I made our way back to the car. "We have to decide on a venue, where do you wanna have it?" He asked.
"I'm not sure, any ideas?" I questioned.
"I don't know....how about a hotel?" He asked.
"That's cool, but which one?" I asked. "We may have to look around." He suggested.
"Yeah." I replied. I was somewhat shocked at how enthusiastic he was for this wedding. Well maybe he had no choice but to be enthusiastic. We entered the car.
"Jackson, can you drop me off at work please." I told him. He nodded with a smile.
"Don't you wanna go home? Aren't you tired." Ian asked without giving me any eye contact. "No thanks I have work to finish." I replied.
My office was a 45 minute drive from here, and home was an hour so might as well just drop off at the office. I leaned my head on the window tracing the small raindrops as they raced down the glass.
IAN POV
I was answering emails on my phone when I noticed how quiet she was. Just as I predicted, she was asleep. She was always so tired and exhausted. I wasn't sure why she kept over working herself. I didn't realize I was staring at her for so long. She looked really uncomfortable. No Ian. Don't get attached. She's not going to be here for long. I kept telling myself to just fuck off and let her be. But why was I so drawn to her.
