One Piece: Conquest of Love and Power Ch.005
He proceeded without delay to drive the Nimbus Explorer to an undisclosed location within Whiskey Mountain.
Three figures, their faces grim and etched with worry, stood in a clearing in the forest near Whiskey Peak, their hushed voices barely audible above the rustling leaves.
Igaram, with his powdered Wig visible, was eating grilled fish with Vivi and the Duck Karoo beside him.
With a perfect hourglass figure and light blue hair in a high ponytail, Vivi possessed a breathtakingly beautiful face, delicate features, and an elegant air.
She had two locks of hair hanging down, one on either side of her head, which started out at about chin-length but were past her shoulders.
Nevertheless, Vivi gazed vacantly at the grilled fish in her possession, finding eating it difficult.
"Igaram, That can't be true, right? Wasn't Crocodile helping Arabasta? How could he…"
Disbelief was evident in Vivi's voice. Had it not been for Igaram, the loyal captain of the guard who knew her from childhood, she would have believed his report to be a betrayal, a string of nonsensical lies.
"Miss Vivi," he whispered, the weight of the truth heavy in the air between them, "it is true. That woman is Mr.0's partner. The information we found from her must be correct." Igaram looked solemn.
"Mr. 0, the mysterious figure who operates in the shadows Baroque Works, is none other than Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!"
"No way... How could it be..."
Vivi lowered her head, her fingers tangled in her hair, a look of utter disbelief etched on her face; the grilled fish slipped from her numb fingers, falling to the dusty ground with a soft thud.
The reason for her disbelief was that Crocodile was a considered a Great hero in the hearts of the people of Arabasta.
He had driven away the pirates who came to make trouble several times in Arabasta, but they didn't expect him to be the Mastermind.
At this moment, Vivi suddenly found that the area in front of her becoming a bit bright event thought it was night.
She and Igaram unconsciously looked up at the sky together.
A spaceship was landing, right before their eyes.
Right as she was going to leap up in surprise, a bright streak of lightning came at them like a shot.
Igaram was struck without warning, his body convulsing.
"Uh..."
He opened his mouth, and a jet of black smoke shot out as the lightning faded. Zapped by the electricity, his once-blonde hair was black, and he hit the ground, unconscious.
Karoo, who had been eating the grilled fish in his mouth without a care in the world, also fell on its back, becoming unconscious.
"Igaram! Karoo!" Vivi's eyes widened in worry as she looked at them.
"They're just unconscious; there's no need to worry." Hearing James nearby, Vivi turned her attention to him.
He brought Ark down next to him, and with a burst of lightning, he was standing before Vivi, his Observation Haki deactivated as he sought to understand what she was thinking.
"You...what do you want? Why are you attacking us..." Vivi looked at James in fear, retreating while she asked.
"Miss Wednesday, or Should I say 'Nefertari Vivi', My sole purpose in coming here was to sign a contract with you. They shouldn't hear what we're saying."
James's contract proposal is sure to meet with fierce resistance from Igaram and Duck Karoo, who may resort to forcing Vivi's refusal, even at the risk of their own deaths.
In order to increase the success rate of Vivi agreeing to his contract, he will let them sleep for a while.
After all, in a situation like this, if they're not involved in the initial discussions, there's no reason to pressure their agreement.
"You actually know my name?!"
Vivi's eyes went wide with surprise. Despite never having seen him before, he addressed her by her real name. That must mean he knows who she actually is, doesn't it?
"What contract are you talking about?"
James's tone left no room for misinterpretations, "If you become this God's Consort, I will remove all difficulties and troubles from your way."
"You were listening in on us, weren't you?"
Vivi felt a degree of inner resentment but exercised restraint in expressing her displeasure. She couldn't afford to tick off the other party.
[[God's Consort? He had the audacity to call himself a god. But with his intimidating presence and power, will he really help me?]]
(A/N: When James reads others minds, it will appear in two black brackets in the future)
"Mr. Crocodile is one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and he is very famous across the whole world.
"I don't know you; why should I believe you?"
"James, that is the true name of this deity. My name is praised in the Divine Kingdom. How could you possibly know that, mere mortals of the East Sea? Regarding my capability..."
James said, chuckled, raised his right hand with the palm facing up.
⚡El Thor (God's Judgment) ⚡
Out of the blue, a colossal lightning bolt plummeted from the sky.
It struck the forest close by with a tremendous blast, forming a bottomless pit and leaving the air incredibly hot.
James's control of his attack was very preicse, and the resulting impact caused by the lightning strike only affected Vivi.
A blast of hot air caused her hair to become somewhat disheveled due to ionization.
Vivi's jaw dropped, her eyes wide with disbelief as she wondered if she was still dreaming.
She pinched herself; yup, it hurt.
[[This is not a dream... With such an incredible power, maybe he can really help me...]]
"Crocodile? The Seven Warlords of the Sea? He is just some weakling!"
Vivi listened to his sneering words, a cold dread washing over her as she returned to reality, staring blankly at him.
She pondered for a moment, the weight of Arabasta's fate heavy on her shoulders; if sacrificing herself alone could save her kingdom, she would agree without a second thought.
That resolve is what makes her a true princess of Arabasta!
[[Arabasta can't endure the ongoing civil war any longer; my sacrifice for peace and stability holds significance.]]
With a firm gaze, Vivi addressed James in a strong voice, saying, "If I marry you, can you defeat Mr. Crocodile and Baroque Works, and end the Civil war in Arabasta?"
"Naturally, what this god says is as good as gold."
James stated resolutely, "Now, make your decision."
"I agree..." Vivi's tone projected resolute conviction.
"But first, you must help Arabasta escape this crisis; only then can I be certain of becoming your consort."
[The End]
