Chereads / Vampire Secret Agreement / Chapter 20 - 20 Good Friends

Chapter 20 - 20 Good Friends

While Odel enjoyed herself with her friends, her three vampire fiancés appeared anxious at home. Clayton sat quietly on the sofa, unmoving, Emilio waited outside the house, while Daffin paced back and forth, muttering to himself.

"What if Odel runs away from us? She's nowhere to be found," Daffin speculated.

Clayton remained silent, eventually walking to the corner of the room and attaching himself like a bat, hanging with his head down.

"Are you listening to me, Clayton?" Daffin asked.

"Can you be quiet? I'm thinking," Clayton replied gruffly.

"Oh my god! We need to search for her. If necessary, we should send every vampire to look for her!" Daffin exclaimed.

"Calm down! Didn't Odel say she'd be back later? Why are you in such a rush?" Clayton replied calmly.

"Do you believe her? She's clearly not happy with this engagement!" Daffin retorted.

"So, calling every vampire to search for Odel is the solution? Aren't you ashamed to admit that our fiancée is missing?" Clayton answered.

"My god, you're right! I might go crazy!" Daffin said, his expression reflecting his anxiety.

Meanwhile, Emilio casually waited outside, holding a glass with a straw filled with fresh blood, sipping it relaxedly. He even greeted a few neighbors as though he were enjoying a glass of strawberry juice. However, he kept going in and out of the storage room to refill his glass, as though his actions were a reflection of his unease.

Velmore Beach Restaurant

Fiona's luxury car drops Odel and Adrian off at an upscale restaurant by the beach. The place had an elegant ambiance, with stunning sea views complemented by a gentle breeze mixed with the scent of the ocean. The restaurant was one of Fiona's family's businesses, as she turned out to be the daughter of a wealthy family.

"Wow, this is beautiful!" Odel exclaimed.

"You haven't seen the inside yet!" Fiona said, taking Odel's hand and leading her inside.

Inside, the atmosphere was even more impressive. The high ceilings, artistic lighting, and beautiful indoor garden created a breathtaking scene. Elegant black wooden tables were adorned with fresh flower vases, and soft music played from a corner of the room. Large windows along the side of the restaurant offered a wide and calming view of the sea, blending seamlessly with the beautiful evening sky.

As they entered, several waiters greeted Fiona respectfully, bowing politely.

"Welcome, Miss Fiona," said a young waiter with a friendly smile, "We've prepared a special table for you and your esteemed guests."

Fiona smiled and nodded, then invited Odel and Adrian to sit first. Not long after they settled down, a few waiters quickly brought appetizers such as fresh shellfish, avocado salad with lemon dressing, and toast with herb butter. Every dish looked absolutely delicious.

"Everything is prepared to your liking, Miss Fiona," another waiter said while placing the dishes on the table.

Soon after, the main courses began to arrive. There was a variety of fresh seafood, from grilled lobster and grilled mackerel to large shrimp with butter sauce.

"Isn't this a bit too much? There are only three of us," Odel said, accustomed to simpler meals.

"Oh, I was also preparing premium steak as a bonus," Fiona replied.

Adrian and Odel immediately shook their heads.

"No, Fiona! This is already enough," Adrian said.

"Yes, this is more than enough," Odel added firmly.

"Hmm, okay, I'll cancel the steak. Just eat!" Fiona said, gesturing for them to start.

Odel and Adrian ate eagerly, while Fiona also took a little and seemed happier watching her friends enjoy their meal.

"Why aren't you eating?" Odel asked.

"I will eat, I just enjoy watching you eat so eagerly," Fiona said with a smile.

"When else will I eat so well? This might be the best meal of my life!" Odel responded.

"Really? That means you'll have to eat with me more often," Fiona said.

"Do you always eat like this?" Odel asked.

"Yes, every day, almost three times a day," Fiona replied casually.

"Wow, your mom must be a great cook too," Odel guessed.

"Ah, no! My mother passed away. I only live with my father, but he's always busy working and never has time to eat together," Fiona sighed.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you didn't have a mother."

"It's okay, it's been a long time."

"Actually, I'm an orphan. I even lived in an orphanage until I was 17," Odel said.

"You?" Fiona was shocked. Adrian also immediately paid attention.

Odel nodded, smiled, then continued speaking. "Yes, but the caretaker at the orphanage was really kind, she was like a mother to me. I also had many siblings, but when they got adopted, it was the saddest thing." Odel began to share her past.

"Oh my God, I can't even imagine it," Fiona said.

"I once cried for my favorite little sister from the orphanage. She got adopted. My eyes swelled up so much, it took me a whole month to let her go," Odel added.

Fiona's eyes welled up with tears, and she immediately hugged Odel.

"From today, you're my sister!" Fiona said.

"Oh my God! I'm so happy to have such a beautiful sister!" Odel smiled.

"Wait, then how did those three handsome guys become your nephews?" Fiona asked.

"Well, that's the twist. I only found out I had a family after I graduated from the orphanage. They came to pick me up, and that's when I met those three troublemakers," Odel said with a grin.

Adrian listened attentively, his face full of empathy, but he didn't comment at all.

"What about you, Adrian? What's your family like?" Fiona asked.

"My family? They're not like most families, they're unique. But I'd rather hear your stories than talk about mine."

Odel glanced at Adrian with a questioning look, but she chose not to press him. They finished their meal, joking and enjoying the beach atmosphere together.

"It's getting late, I'll take you home, Odel. I've ordered an online taxi," Adrian said.

However, Odel politely declined. "Thank you, Adrian. But I'll go in Fiona's car. We're heading the same way," Odel explained, with a nod from Fiona, who had already instructed her driver to take Odel home.

"Is that so? Alright! Take care on the road."

Meanwhile, at home...

Clayton still sat in silence, his head hanging in the corner of the room. Emilio had become restless as his blood drink ran out, and Daffin kept complaining, "When is she coming back? I can't live with this uncertainty!"
