Chapter 19 - 19. Odel Left

Odel had fun that day with her friends, followed closely by her three vampire fiancés. They even went into a haunted house to chase after Odel. However, Daffin, horrified by the fake ghosts, screams and accidentally breaks a vampire mannequin.

"What was that sound?" Fiona asked after hearing the loud scream.

"This is a haunted house; of course, it's the scream of some scaredy-cat guy," Odel replied, not even considering that the scream could have been Daffin's.

"Wow, that scream was even louder than mine," Fiona said with a laugh.

"Let's just go in already!" Adrian urged.

The group casually continued further into the haunted house. Meanwhile, Clayton and Emilio walked on ahead, leaving a confused Daffin behind.

"Hey, wait for me! Its head broke off! It's dead!" Daffin shouted, holding the broken vampire mannequin's head.

"Handle it yourself. Don't expect me to pay the fine if we get charged," Clayton replied nonchalantly.

"I'm staying out of this one," Emilio added.

"You guys!"

Daffin placed the mannequin's head back onto its coffin, staring at its grotesque face with a shake of his head. "How can you look this ugly? You're ruining my dignity as a vampire," Daffin muttered.

Meanwhile, Clayton and Emilio, who had already moved ahead, exchanged a mischievous glance. They paused to wait for Daffin, who was still lagging behind.

"What do you say we teach Daffin a little lesson? He's been causing too much commotion," Clayton whispered.

Emilio grinned, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I'm in. Let's see if he's really as much of a coward as he seems."

They quickly searched for props among the haunted house's decorations. Emilio picked up a mask with glowing red eyes, while Clayton draped himself in a long black cloak. Both hid in the shadows near a narrow doorway, waiting for Daffin to pass by.

Daffin, still grumbling about the mannequin, walked slowly through the house. "Those two idiots, leaving me behind. If I had known the haunted house would be like this, I wouldn't have bothered—" he muttered.

As he entered a darker room, he began glancing around nervously. "Ugh, whatever! These are just fake ghosts, just mannequins. One punch and they're done for. What's there to worry about?" he muttered, trying to reassure himself.

Steeling his nerves, Daffin strode forward—until suddenly, "Boo!" Emilio's voice echoed, accompanied by the mask with glowing red eyes floating eerily in the air. Emilio had transformed into mist, spinning to make the mask appear to levitate.

At the same time, Clayton soared in with the black cloak billowing behind him, mimicking a headless figure.

Daffin stumbled backward and fell to the floor, screaming louder than ever.

"GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU UGLY GHOST! GO AWAY!" Daffin yelled, flailing his arms as though fighting off an invisible enemy.

Clayton and Emilio couldn't hold back their laughter. Clayton's cloak slipped, revealing his face, contorted with laughter to the point of tears. Emilio, still wearing the mask, finally removed it as he doubled over, clutching his stomach.

"Oh my gosh, that was the funniest thing ever!" Clayton managed to say between gasps for air.

"You should've seen your face, Daffin! Absolutely pathetic!" Emilio teased, still laughing uncontrollably.

"You two are so immature!" Daffin snapped as he stood up, his face flushed with embarrassment. "What if I had attacked you out of reflex?"

"But you didn't, did you? Don't tell me you were too scared to even move," Clayton teased, still chuckling.

"This was way too fun. Let's do it again! Daffin, go on ahead. We'll surprise you again," Emilio teased further, unable to resist pushing Daffin's buttons.

"You're both unbearable! Get out of my way! I'm going to find Odel!" Daffin said, brushing past them, clearly humiliated.

"Yeah, go call her for protection. 'Odel, my love, save me! A scary vampire is attacking me!'" Emilio called out mockingly, laughing even harder.

Clayton, who usually appeared indifferent, was still laughing, unable to believe that a real vampire could be scared of fake ghosts.

Once they exited the haunted house, they finally remembered their original mission: to follow Odel and her friends. However, Odel was nowhere to be found. They split up to search around the amusement park, but there was no sign of Odel or her companions.

"Where are they?" Emilio asked, his expression turning serious.

Clayton let out a long sigh. "Damn it! We got careless! They must've left already," he said, grumbling in frustration.

"This is all your fault! If you two hadn't been fooling around, we wouldn't have lost them!" Daffin snapped.

"Are you mad?" Emilio teased.

"Of course, I am!" Daffin retorted.

"Clayton, I'm scared! This vampire is terrifying!" Emilio said in a mockingly whiny tone as he clung to Clayton, clearly mocking Daffin.

"I'll teach you a lesson, Emilio!" Daffin yelled, chasing after him, while Emilio immediately took off running.

Clayton shook his head, his expression a mix of seriousness and disbelief at Daffin and Emilio's antics. He tried to stay focused, but his lips occasionally twitched upward as he struggled to suppress his laughter.

"Enough, you two!" he shouted, glaring at Emilio, who was running circles around a tree with Daffin hot on his heels. "We've lost Odel, and you still have time to act like children!"

Emilio paused for a moment, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Yeah, yeah, I know this is my fault. But look on the bright side: at least we know how brave Daffin really is," he said with a smirk.

Daffin came to a stop, his face flushing red. "Stop mocking me, Emilio! If it weren't for you two, Odel wouldn't be missing! What are we supposed to do now?" he snapped.

Clayton tried to regain control of the situation. "Listen, we don't have time to point fingers. Let's split up, search the area, and stay in contact if anyone finds Odel!"

Daffin and Emilio finally nodded in agreement, and the three of them split up to search for the lovely Odel.

Earlier...

Fiona walked casually while typing on her phone. Moments later, a luxurious car pulled up in front of them, with a chauffeur stepping out and politely opening the door.

"Please, Miss," said the man in a crisp white shirt, smiling warmly.

"Your car?" Adrian asked, a bit surprised.

Fiona nodded nonchalantly. "Yes, my chauffeur has been waiting for us. Come on, let's go have dinner. I know a restaurant you'll both love."

"Isn't this a bit of a bother for you?" Odel asked, feeling slightly awkward.

"Not at all. When else can we hang out like this? Being too busy with college isn't good for the brain either," Fiona replied.

"Forget it, I won't join. You two can go without me," Adrian said.

"Hey, don't say that! You have to come too. My dad just opened a new restaurant—part of our family business. I want to treat you both!" Fiona insisted.

"Really? Well, I can't say no to a treat," Adrian responded.

"Great!"

Without hesitation, the three of them got into the car, heading to Fiona's family restaurant located near the beach. Meanwhile, the three vampires searching for Odel around the area were struggling to find her. Odel was nowhere to be seen, which only made them more anxious.
