Chapter 1 - To You, My Lovely Children.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are." A beautiful elven woman said softly as she tiptoed around a tree. She heard muffled giggles and she peeked her head over the tree. Only to see no children but a small doll.

"Using a doll? Smart," She picked up the doll with a smile before she grabbed the air and pulled it back like a veil, revealing two elven children a boy and a girl, "But you can't fool your mommy!"

"I told you we should've made a two-way barrier, we were like sitting ducks!" The girl said as she punched her brother in the arm. He winced in pain, "Hey! It's not my fault! You were the one who spent all our time fiddling with that stupid doll!" He punched her arm in retaliation.

"Agatha is not stupid! She's the greatest doll in the whole wide universe!" Frieren said as she bonked her brother, Merlien on the head.

A fight then ensued between the siblings but was quickly stopped by their mother's laughter. They decided to put the beef to the side and they ran to hug their mother.

Farryn, who was caught slightly off guard, was tackled to the ground, "You little knuckleheads tackling your wee old mother!"

She ruffled their silver hair and soon after that they returned to their home. Their house was a small wooden cottage in the middle of a flower field. But looks can be deceiving, despite how small the house looked on the outside, the inside was massive and full of modern technology.

This is because Farryn is a reincarnator. She was reincarnated as Frieren's mother but grew too powerful too quickly due to her overpowered system. She decided to finish her main quest so that she could leave Frieren's universe. So, she picked the best suitor possible, got pregnant, and left. What she didn't account for was carrying twins instead of Frieren alone. When she asked her system about this, no plausible answer was given but she didn't care all that much anyway.

She gave birth to Merlien and Frieren her pride and joys. She taught them magic, weapon styles, language, martial arts, how to cook and clean, and about fiction. She poured as much knowledge as she could into her kids for 14 years straight. Due to elves aging much slower than humans, although they are 14 they looked much younger.

Farryn was currently behind a stove making an excellent steak. Frieren and Merlien on the other hand were bickering…again.

"HEY, KEEP IT DOWN WILL YA?!" Farryn yelled and the entire house went quiet. She gave a sweet smile, "Thank you."

"Scary."

"Scary…"

Nightfall then came and after devouring dinner, the twins were tucked into bed. Farryn was in her study when her system gave her a red warning message.

[WARNING! A ???-RANK BEING HAS ENTERED YOUR UNIVERSE!]

Farryn felt a wave of fear enter her body but she powered through it and rushed to her children. She looked at their sleeping faces with a tearful smile, "Farewell my children. Your mother will always love you."

She placed her hand over her children, "[LETZTE KÖNIGIN!]"

A golden sarcophagus encased her children and was slowly filled with a blue liquid that had white specks that shined like stars. The sarcophagus then vanished into thin air and Farryn coughed up an enormous amount of blood.

"Heh, the shit we do for our children," Farryn said weakly.

*BOOM*

Suddenly, an explosion ripped apart her house and sent Farryn flying through the ground.

"Farryn the Witch. You are sentenced to death by order of Grand Emperor Yahweh for the crime of High Treason." A being of pure light said as it read off of a golden scroll. This being had six wings and was holding a lance made of fire.

"He couldn't come kill me himself? I should've known the guy who wants to keep his image oh-so-pristine wouldn't sully his hands with something like this," Farryn laughed before she raised her voice, "HEY YAHWEH! YOU'RE A FAT PUS-"

The being of light threw his lance and it pierced Farryn's chest.

"Blegh!" Farryn vomited more blood and her system kept ringing in her ears. She felt death's cold hand and her final thought was of her children.

"Treasonous witch. I shall remove all things tainted by your filth." The being said as it floated high above the planet and aimed its lance at the surface.

Golden energy began to collect at the tip of its lance until a small ball was formed, "Begone."

The being fired the golden energy ball and turned the planet into space debris. It vanished and the cosmos felt the power of a True Angel.

Meanwhile, the golden sarcophagus reappeared on a barren island. It embedded itself deep underground, where it laid dormant for 1000 years. This is primarily due to the spell [Letzte Königin], a sacrificial spell Farryn created so that her children wouldn't be seen by any higher deities but that's only its secondary purpose. The primary use of this spell is to multiply her children's mana pool by using her own mana.

So, over 1000 years, the twins slowly integrated their mother's mana pool into their own. But their mana pools became full within 10 years so, the mana began to integrate with their very being. It was absorbed into their skin, hair, bones, eyes, their entire body in and out. The mana also changed the landscape around and above the sarcophagus.

The dull brown earth around the sarcophagus expanded until a small cavern was created. The ores and subterranean plants exposed began to mutate and so did the soil. With the soil being fertile and mutated, it began to mutate the flora and later the fauna that arrived on the island.

Trees taller than buildings holding fruits the size of people, mythical fairies as abundant as air, and in the center of the island was a gigantic tree right above the once sleeping children.

Merlien slowly awoke to his sister standing over him.

"It's about time you woke up dummy! I was just about to hit you." Frieren said as Merlien groggily wiped his eyes, "Fri, where are we? And where's mom?"

The cave they were in was lined with sparkling blue crystals, so seeing wasn't an issue. Frieren shook her head, "I dunno, I can't feel the link between us anymore. Maybe this is another one of her training exercises."

Suddenly, a golden magic circle appeared in front of them. A magic image of their mother appeared. Their eyes immediately trained on her image.

"My children, if you are seeing this message, that means I am already dead," Farryn said solemnly. Her image began to pace, "I ask that you hold your emotions until my message is over, please."

Merlien gripped the edge of the sarcophagus subconsciously and Frieren tightened her hands.

"You two have been asleep for a thousand years. I've sent both of you to a distant universe and casted a spell that will hide you from view. Why? To escape the eyes of your inevitable future foe. Who? Grand Emperor Yahweh, the ruler of Heaven and the Multiverse. He's a terrible person, siphoning the lives of his followers to continue a war created by his injustice. He has a nigh-infinite amount of followers, most of which don't even worship his true form but a mere fragment. You will only be hidden from vision for 20 years after you wake up, so please use your time wisely." Farryn explained seriously. Her tone was laced with disdain when mentioning Yahweh. Her expression then softened as tears flooded her eyes and she fell to her knees.

"My children I-, I hope you know that I love you so very much. I hope that one day you will understand my decision, *sniffle*. Merlien protect your sister at all costs. Frieren, make sure he doesn't get into any trouble because of his temper," Farryn laughed. She split into two and hugged both of her sobbing children.

"I love you. Goodbye, my children." Farryn's image then turned into golden particles.

"NO, DON'T GO!!" Merlien sobbed as he tried to grab the vanishing particulates. Frieren sobbed on the ground and looked up to see her brother gnashing his teeth.

"I'LL KILL 'EM! I'LL KILL THAT BASTARD AND EVERYONE WHO STANDS IN MY WAY!" Merlien's hair began to rise as a blue aura shrouded his body. Before he could dive further into his rage, Frieren put a hand on his shoulder.

"Calm down. Getting angry right now will do us no good. Let's try and figure out where we are first." Frieren said calmly. Merlien quickly relaxed and sighed deeply.

"You're right… unfortunately. Mom said we've been asleep for a thousand years, so maybe this society won't be primitive?" Merlien shrugged.

"I think that only counts for Mom's homeworld. For all we know, we could be the only sentient beings alive." Frieren said as Merlien rubbed his chin.

"Theres only one way to find out." Merlien said as he looked up.
