Chapter 2 - Fairy Tail?

As Merlien charged mana in his hand, Frieren shouted, "Wait! I don't think we have to destroy our way out of here. Look."

Frieren pointed at the steps made out of the blue crystal, behind their sarcophagus.

"Were those there before?" Merlien comically asked as they walked up the steps and into a long crystal tunnel. At the end of the tunnel was a large metal double door.

"Now we use violence!" Merlien charged another ball of mana but the door opened by itself. The twins immediately got ready for combat but behind the door was a kneeling man. This man had long golden hair and a beard of the same color. He looked middle-aged and was dressed in a white toga with a golden dragon symbol.

"I had no doubt in my mind this day would come," The man said resolutely, "Greetings my lord and lady. I am Uri, your servant and active defender of your holy island."

"Servant?" Merlien asked in confusion.

"How do we know we can trust you? We have no presence in this world, so it's odd we already have such a loyal servant." Frieren said as she aimed a concentrated ball of mana at Uri.

Uri nodded, "You are correct my lady. I do not even know your names, but I have decided to lay down my life for you because you saved my life."

"And how exactly did we do that?" Frieren raised her brow in suspicion.

"400 years ago, there was a great war among dragons and humans. With one side wanting co-existence and the other side wanting dominance. I was an entirely neutral dragon but was attacked by Acnologia, The Dragon King. He's known for indiscriminately attacking dragons and I was yet another victim, or so I thought. I crash-landed here in desperation but the sheer abundance of the purest ethernano I've ever tasted healed my wounds and even allowed me to jump in power. So to repay my debt, I've decided to dedicate my life to serving you." Uri exclaimed while Merlien and Frieren shared a look.

«Ethernano? Dragons? Isn't this uhh… Fairy Tail?» Merlien asked while speaking in their native tongue.

«Yes, it is. I wonder how long we have before canon starts.»

Merlien pointed at Uri, «We can just ask him.»

"You can get off your knees now and what year is it?" Merlien asked. Uri slowly stood up and actually got a look at his saviors. Pale skin, silver hair, long pointed ears, blue and green eyes dotted with white specks, and pure white garments.

"It is X784, sir." Uri answered still in awe of his alien saviors, 'What are they? They certainly aren't human, they have been alive this long and still look like children. And what is this feeling? It is as if I'm standing in front of two caged devils!'

"So canon starts this year? Interesting." Frieren stopped aiming the blast at Uri who subconsciously sighed in relief.

"My name is Frieren," She did a curt bow and pointed at her brother, "and that imbecile is my brother, Merlien."

Merlien flicked a piece of the blue crystal at her head, something she dodged with ease.

They began to bicker and Uri chuckled, "Allow me to show you the surface."

The twins agreed and they continued through the crystal tunnel until they reached a thick metal door with a long metal rod acting as a lock. Uri opened the door and behind it was the outside world.

"Wow, our first breath of fresh air in a thousand years," Merlien said staring off into the distance. He tightened his fists in anger before exhaling and relaxing.

'ONE THOUSAND YEARS?!' Uri thought incredulously, 'They're monsters! To not only be alive that long but still look so young and be so strong, are they gods?'

"Hey, Earth to Uri! Fri, I think he's gone senile already…" Merlien had been waving his hand in front of Uri's face for over a minute now. Uri snapped back to reality and bowed in apology.

"I am sorry my lord, please forgive me." Uri said with a mix of emotions. Merlien patted his shoulder, "It's alright. I was asking if you knew how to fly or not, do you need to become a dragon or can you half-transform?"

"Ah, uh, I can't partially transform. I'm sorry." Uri apologized again, much to Merlien's annoyance.

"I have one rule for you dude, stop saying sorry so much…" Merlien had a small tick mark on his face. Uri was going to apologize again but caught himself and just nodded.

"Alrighty and since you can't fly without turning into a huge dragon, I can carry you. Fri, you ready?" After hearing the words of confirmation from his sister, Merlien grinned mischievously at Uri.

"I won't drop you I promise." He said as a green glow outlined his body. The twins began floating and Merlien grabbed Uri.

"Uri, how close is the nearest human settlement from here?" Frieren asked as she floated around upside down.

"I believe it is 2 or 3 days east if you're on a boat. If I flew at my top speed it would take me a few hours at most." Uri stated pointing off in the distance.

"But if I may ask, what about the island? Do you not want to defend against pirates and humans trying to conquer it for their own gain?"

"Humans will be humans. If they want to kill each other over the island then so be it, who are we to stop them?" Frieren remarked as she shrugged her shoulders.

"I see. Thank you, my lady." After saying that, they began flying in the direction Uri pointed them to.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you! The country we are going to is named Fiore! The people are kind and the food is good!" Uri yelled over the wind.

"Thank Uri! Do you know of the world's top countries by any chance?" Frieren asked and Uri placed his hand on his chin in thought.

"My information may be a bit outdated so my apologies if something has changed. I believe they are Marley, The Alvarez Empire, and Fiore. But since Fiore is permanently neutral, most people only consider Marley and The Alvarez Empire." At his mention of Marley, Merlien stopped flying.

"Wait…Marley?" Merlien mumbled and he looked at his sister, "Uri, please elaborate on the history of Marley, if you know it of course."

"Of course. From what is widely known, Marley and the rest of the human world were conquered by the Eldian Empire. These people could apparently turn into titans and that's how they enslaved the world. They lost power around a century ago and their King holed himself and whoever would follow him on a little island called Paradis." Uri explained, shocking Merlien and Frieren.

«The Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail universes have mixed?! If that's the case, then the entire plot has to be changed right?» Merlien yelled with a mix of emotions, but fear was not a part of that mix. No, the emotion he was feeling the most was excitement!

«Yes, this changes everything. Not only is the rumbling a possibility, but so are 50-foot giants using magic! How exciting…» Frieren exclaimed with a wide smile on her face.

«What should we do Fri? Do we continue to Fiore, or do we go to Paradis?»

«I say we go to Paradis. There must be a reason why Mom sent us to a combined universe rather than the base universe.»

«Alrighty then, to Paradis we go.» Merlien looked down at the very confused Uri, "We are changing course, we're going to Paradis. Know where that is?"

"I believe it is west of where we are currently heading."

The twins nodded and flew in that direction at their top speed which changed Uri's flight from calm to extremely turbulent. Within an hour, they were on the coast of the island. They flew further into the interior until they were above Wall Rose.

A few garrison members spotted the trio in the sky and told their comrades. But someone else also saw the trio in the sky.

"Hey Armin, are those people-" Eren's question was cut off by a massive lightning bolt that struck outside the walls.

"And so it begins…" Frieren looked down at the colossal titan staring at her and Merlien.
