Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: Elements

Emerging from the divine realm, Zhao Lun felt a sense of well-being he had never experienced before. He immediately headed to the laboratory, picked up the trident of the fishmen, and conducted the final phase of his research.

Having been analyzing this for some time, he finally made a new breakthrough.

This trident, seemingly ordinary, was made from materials almost identical to steel. The only difference lay in the trace elements embedded within it. These trace elements transformed the otherwise mundane trident into something extraordinary.

It wasn't the trident itself that controlled these elements, but rather a set of unfamiliar runes, which guided and infused the elements, granting the trident its enhanced sturdiness and sharpness.

These runes were familiar to Zhao Lun, being a form of magical inscription. The creator had skillfully balanced both forces, allowing the trident to surpass ordinary objects.

In simpler terms, the trident had been enchanted!

"They truly are remarkable!"

Having identified what he needed, Zhao Lun momentarily set aside the trident and turned his attention to a pile of electronic components.

The previous camera, crafted without a proper reference and untested, was susceptible to interference when faced with impact.

Wizards' magic, with its EMP-like capabilities, could disrupt electronic devices, and if unleashed with enough power, it could destroy them.

EMP was a deadly weapon to electronics, capable of disabling over ninety percent of devices.

In this world, Zhao Lun had yet to find a place capable of resisting EMP's destruction. Even if such a place existed, it was likely well hidden.

He had always believed he would not face such damage so soon, but things rarely went as expected, and before he could even think, he encountered this situation.

What reassured Zhao Lun, however, was that his equipment only temporarily malfunctioned; the situation did not escalate into a catastrophe.

Wizards could interfere with and destroy electronics, but typically, two wizards arrived with malice, providing him with valuable information. Coupled with the ongoing insights from the fishmen, he had new ideas for modifying electronic devices.

To this end, Zhao Lun applied various knowledge gleaned from his collection of magical books to the current technological framework, leveraging the power of his quantum computer to develop a new, advanced monitoring device.

"All things converge at a single point: magic is technology, and technology is magic! By combining both forces, I believe unimaginable changes will unfold."

With his knowledge base expanding and continuous updates pouring in, Zhao Lun found it easier to make progress on the camera's upgrade.

In less than two days, he achieved initial success: a new device was completed.

"This time, EMP should no longer affect us."

The simulation test passed, but without real-world combat, Zhao Lun remained vigilant.

Holding the prototype, he began mass production.

Magic, while powerful, was not omnipotent. Trees damaged by magical forces had been restored, but they were not fully healed; some were even losing leaves.

Had these been ordinary trees, they might have perished. Fortunately, Zhao Lun had carefully selected the trees along the roadside, watering them with a mixture of divine water, which allowed them to recover.

Old leaves fell, and new buds sprouted—this marked the start of a new life. By the following year, they would grow even stronger.

It was mid-July.

The scorching heat continued, with waves of heat rising from the road, causing the pavement to sway under the distorted air.

The plants along the road, too, were wilted by the heat, and the once-vibrant insect songs fell silent. The entire world seemed to be shrouded in the relentless, hot wind.

In the distance, the manor stood, with vibrant flowers, healthy vegetation, and a comfortable temperature that made it feel as if spring had arrived.

"Woof!——"

"Chirp!——"

The low growls of fierce beasts and the sky-shattering cries of raptors echoed.

"Xue Ying! Get down!"

After half a month, Maria and Nicole had finally emerged from the shadows. Upon seeing two even more formidable raptors, they smiled and rushed over, embracing them, reluctant to part.

The two snow sculptures sensed their affection, softening their once-sharp gaze, lowering their heads in humility, and allowing them to stroke their feathers.

"Ah, get down, you've grown so much!"

"Maria can't even reach you anymore!"

"You're back! Maria missed you so much."

The two raptors, as if under the influence of hormones, had grown massive. Maria could hide beneath their wings, completely concealed.

"Ellen, what happened to them?"

Nicole, surprised, touched the two snow-white sculptures and asked Zhao Lun.

In the few days since their last encounter, the snow sculptures had undergone drastic changes. They had grown taller, and their feathers—now tough and pure white—shone like pristine snow. When touched, their surface was smooth, their feathers cold as metal, rigid in appearance.

Each wing stretched over three meters, and when fully extended, the span reached nearly seven meters. When they flapped their wings, the air around them stirred fiercely.

Their beaks and talons had become sharper, leaving gouges in the stone beneath them.

A dominating aura radiated from them, making them seem even more intimidating. Even the dogs felt the pressure.

"Roar!"

The two proud mastiffs let out low growls, asserting their dominance.

Grey Shadow and Ivy, the two Labradors, had been raised by Zhao Lun and no longer resembled typical Labradors. Their bodies were elongated, their forms graceful, akin to specialized leopards, with eyes gleaming with intelligence.

After being apart for over two weeks, they approached the snow sculptures, signaling goodwill, and the atmosphere became more harmonious.

"White Snow, Prince, no barking at Xue Ying."

"Apologize now."

Maria rubbed the heads of the two proud mastiffs, causing them to feel a little disgruntled.

The mastiffs, naturally arrogant, clashed with the equally proud snow sculptures. Normally, they ignored each other, but today they had to apologize, making them feel aggrieved.

Maria, regardless of whether the dogs were upset, insisted that without an apology, they wouldn't be allowed to continue.

Faced with their dominant owner, the mastiffs had no choice but to retreat.

The snow sculptures, too, were concerned, not less than Maria. They inspected the snow sculptures' bodies again. The wounds had healed, leaving no traces.

The snow sculptures had been badly injured, as though torn apart like broken dolls. Their bodies were a mess of wounds.

Everyone had thought they were beyond saving, but Zhao Lun not only revived them, but healed their wounds completely, and they had now grown stronger, resembling colossal creatures.

"Brother!"

"Xue Ying, they're really fine now."

The ladies were overjoyed, and Maria cheered and celebrated with them.

Finally, Maria ran to Zhao Lun, hugged his arm, and stood on tiptoe to give him a kiss.

Zhao Lun patted her head, making the little girl even happier.

With the return of the snow sculptures, everyone felt a sense of peace and reassurance.
