Chereads / The Forsaken Monarch / Chapter 13 - Fall To Rise

Chapter 13 - Fall To Rise

"WHAT HAPPENED?"

Brian killed one of the other orcs.

"What? Somehow...everything seems to be getting easier."

All the orcs slowly started to take damage to their feet, heads and every part of their body.

"I'll weaken them as much as I can without being noticed. A few of them seem to have noticed me." he said to himself. An orc came up behind him, but with a knife at his throat:

"It's a good thing I can turn invisible. If you were doing unnecessary work, it would be a mess."

A hunter killed another orc right next to the Draken.

"Blood spatter..." said Draken with a cold look.

"All the hunters here are elite hunters, but the great orcs are not easily defeated... Just now, that healer woman almost died... I can't just watch them die and do nothing!" thought Draken to himself.

"You have levelled up." came the notification from the inventory.

"I didn't know I could level up just by supporting the unit."

The whole squad cleared out the orcs.

"Did we win?"

"Is it over?"

"IS ANYONE HURT? AS LONG AS YOU'RE BREATHING, THE A-RANK HEALERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAL YOU."

"We're lucky no one died."

At that moment a mage's eye caught Draken's, looking suspicious:

"Carrier...he must think our people are idiots...there's no way mages wouldn't notice such an invisibility spell!" the Mage said inwardly.

"Hey, Brian."

"Yeah."

The Healer told Brian what had happened.

"Did the great orc spontaneously disintegrate, suspended in mid-air?

"Hina was it you?" Brian asked another hunter.

"It's out of the question with my abilities, I could barely stop it with my telekinesis spell, and there's no one in our unit who can use that kind of magic, the assault unit is all firepower orientated, we don't have that kind of assassin."

At that moment, the sorcerer entered the centre:

"He's right, if anyone can do it, it's a foreigner." Sorcerer looked at Draken secretly, and Draken turned his eyes away.

"There must be some reason to hide your power. Should I let it go?" the Wizard thought to himself.

"Leader, shall we continue?"

"Wouldn't that be too dangerous?"

"We're not far from the entrance. We've encountered a horde of great orcs. There may be a more dangerous beast ahead."

Brian froze. He was lost in thought.

"It must be hard for him. Anyone else would have gone ahead and cleared the dungeon," Draken said, looking at Brian.

"Alright, let's fall back," Brian said with a sigh.

The guild headed towards the dungeon door and when they reached the dungeon door, that's when it happened.

"STOP!" shouted Brian.

"WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"WHAT IS THIS?!"

"A barrier! It was created by a high level spell. Hey, Wizard. Can't you destroy it?" Brian asked the Wizard.

"I can if you give me some time."

The wizard approached the dungeon door, sensing danger:

"We made the right decision. We couldn't have cleared this place with the current assault force," the Wizard said to himself.

Suddenly there was a huge aura in the room. All the hunters froze. Draken was shocked.

"MY GOD! AN ARCHBEAST?! NO WAY!" shouted Brian.

'BRIAN, we must hurry!' said the Wizard.

The other wizards started to help and tried to close the door.

"This is a different level of archbeast, its energy is very strong." Draken said to himself as he looked at the dungeon door.

The wizards were working hard, but suddenly all the wizards couldn't hold on and started to die one by one.

"CURSE MAGIC?"

"TARGETING OUR WIZARDS!"

"USE HOLY MAGIC NOW!"

Everyone was panicking. It was like a war zone. Brian looked at the portal as if he was going to cry:

"Shit..."

Suddenly there was a big noise from the back. Everyone turned round. This time there were more than 50 Great Orcs. The head of the Orcs came up to Brian and said:

"Human...Humans...I...Hybrid...want...to...meet...you...humans..."

"A GREAT ORC SPOKE IN A HUMAN LANGUAGE?!"

"IS THIS MAGIC?"

The wizard stepped forward:

"He's just a puppet. Someone else is speaking through him."

Brian looked fearfully at the Orc in front of him:

"Hybrid, was it you who set up the barrier?"

"Yes...I am the...great...wizard...of the proud orcs...my...magic...cannot be...broken...by...you humans..."

"Is there anyone here more powerful than you?" asked Brian with a stern look.

"Who... dares... go against me?!" Make your choice... be torn apart... by my men... or... be my man."

"We will be your men." replied Brian in desperation.

"Follow us, humans.

"He wants to make a deal with the archbeast to get us back in one piece?" thought the Draken.

Brian moved closer to the Draken:

"Mr Hunter."

"Sir."

"When we get there, we'll... make a surprise attack on the archbeast, so you run and call in the main assault unit."

"By the time the assault unit arrives, you guys will be dead," Draken replied with a sidelong glance.

"Our goal is not to get out alive, it's to close the gate," Brian replied.

Chae came to the landing party area looking for Draken. She looked for Draken but couldn't find him, thinking to herself:

"He's not here? Has he already left the landing party?!"

"Hunter Chae, isn't today your day off?" a worker jumped out.

Chae, scared:

"HELLO!" I wonder... did Hunter Draken Nightfall come today?"

"Mr Draken just entered the dungeon as a transporter..."

Chae was surprised:

"Carrier?! You're telling me he went through the portal?! I'm going in!"

"Huh...is there a problem?"

"No, it's personal. No need to worry."

Draken and the team entered the room where the head of the orcs was. The room was huge, and at the other end of the room sat the head beast:

"Welcome...Humans."

Brian looked around at the orcs and thought to himself:

"If all of these great orcs get out of the dungeon...they could destroy a small city before our main hunting party arrives...At the very least...we will disable the archbeast."

"Are you afraid of me? Humans?" said the Archbeast, emitting a large, terrifying aura into the room.

Everyone froze in the aura.

"Damn it..."

"How can it have such a huge magical energy?!"

"It's on a whole other level!"

Brian asked the Archbeast in fear:

"Why...Why...Why?! Why did you bring us here?! Your men were enough to defeat us."

"For fun," replied the archmonster.

"WHAT?!"

"In the time we have left, we will kill you one by one for your men's amusement."

All the orcs began to shout.

"And yet... there is someone different among you humans." said the archbeast, gesturing to Draken.

"ATTACK NOW!!!" Brian shouted and rushed forward, but when he looked behind him, he saw that no one was moving.

"Stupid human! GRAVITATIONAL MAGIC." whispered the arch-monster.

Brian was pinned to the ground. The arch-monster was using the spell to knock Brian this way and that.He was about to strike again when it happened.Draken caught Brian in mid-air at high speed. But Brian was in bad shape.Draken asked Brian with a cold blue stare:

"Mr Brian, can I kill all the monsters here?"

At this moment an orc charged from behind, but Draken cut the orc in half without even turning round.

"I'll ask you one more time. Can I kill all the monsters here?"

"Please...help us," Brian cried.

"You have a great talent, but how long will you be able to hold out against us?" the Archbeast emitted a powerful energy.

"I've never felt such a strong energy before."

"HAHAHAHAHA...isn't it obvious?" said the Archbeast.

Draken laughed as if in mockery:

"But it's a terrible match, from your point of view."
