"By the way, Nanna is dead and she had better stay that way. That creature encourages the extinction of her race and of other realms. I am only helping believe it or not!"
He glared at his so-called mother with fury. His form finally shifting to reveal his true nature. "I couldn't even pretend to be Nanna when you chose to give the baby to HER when I entrusted him with YOU!!"
"Frigg nearly cried out in anguish at the words of accusation by her closest son.
"Leave this place!" Hodr yelled in his direction. He glared with his dead eyes and yelled, "You break my mother's heart Loki!"
Loki picked up Lachlan. "Baldur will die. And it's because you killed my firstborn too. My children haven't deserved what so-called father has done to them!
"Mark my words, Baldur will die!" Loki yelled. His emotional state matching the vulnerable emotionally charged personality that he had given to his children and his grandchildren. It was multi-generational trauma and Frigg sobbed as her son disappeared with the baby.
Frigg collapsed onto the cold stone floor, her hands trembling. She had heard Loki's accusations before, but this time, they struck a truth she could no longer deny. She had done nothing to stop her husband from the hurt he had inflicted on Loki.

-present day-
Sirius jolted awake, his heart racing and his breath coming in shallow gasps. His nails had become claws and dug into the bedsheets, poking through and piercing the mattress beneath.
The darkness of the room felt suffocating, he grasped at his chest trying to catch his breath and a bead of sweat ran down his forehead.
Fragments of a nightmare clung to his mind.
It took a moment to remember where he was, the terror still pulsed through him, refusing to fade and his eyes were wild and black in the darkness.
Maeve opened her eyes and gave him a concerned look. "Did you have another nightmare about the war?" She asked groggily. Her head rested on her hands which made a prayer position under her pillow.
He had apparently been in a war in his past life and the images kept coming to him of back when he was a single older man who had never married. It was him but from a whole other time.
He nodded and gasped a while longer until he calmed himself. He released his talon-like fingers from the mattress and his hands retracted back into human fingernails.
"I was just mindlessly attacking. I was so terrified by the bloodshed I was inflicting." He said. "It is getting worse, I have no clue where this feeling is coming from. I felt deep inside like I was becoming a monster, and I so badly didn't want to be, everything I was doing was horrifying me, staining me, so against my will, but I was doing it anyway.
It was like a lucid dream, but also a memory. I couldn't change what I was doing. Only feel like I was crying out for help to get me off of this path that I was on." Sirius finished calming down and his red eyes turned back to normal. His body had stopped sweating and he leaned into his wife's embrace as she had now sat up and came closer to him to attempt to comfort him. Then she quickly pulled away as soon as they had touched.
"Well, at least we know it's not real." She said softly. "It's just a bad dream."
Sirius nodded, but it didn't feel like it was going away. His mind kept searching in those dreams to understand Taz. Taz….. whoever Taz was. Was he his inner beast?
"It feels so real." He said. "Sometimes, I get strong emotions even in the middle of the day and I can't tell what provoked them."
His phone made a ding sound. He groaned and picked it up to glance at it. The screen read 3:30am and a message box read, "Hey Sirius, would you be able to finish my shift tonight? I have to go to an appointment at 9 and I wanted to get some sleep. It's been super slow. I can't handle it."
It was a message from his co-worker Steven. Sirius had tried to find his place in his new life and because he didn't remember anything, he thought it would be logical to look for a job.
Being a vampire, he began working as a night guard for the police department, helping out with places like shopping mall parking lots and stuff. But once he had discovered that his skin didn't burn in the sun like other vampires, he ventured out to go to a local police academy and quickly became a police officer.
He got up and readied himself to go to work, undressing and putting on a pair of blue pants and a belt. He began buttoning his uniform shirt and put on a vest.
He wasn't the only vampire on the police force in town, and he didn't need to hide it because this town was unique in that it was integrated with both humans and vampires.
It was nice to be around humans because they had many career options to choose from and many things to learn. For humans, the world was open wide.
The police academy training hadn't taken him very long to finish because of his strong body. He could run faster than human men, and it was often that he discovered clues that others had overlooked.
If it involved blood, he felt like this kind of job was familiar to him. And not just because of his heightened senses that his fellow officers and detectives didn't have, but because he could tell when someone was near death and he would know somehow what had happened. Not all of it, but he could tell information about a person, like how old they might have been and how they might have died. And if a suspect was the culprit, he would always get a gut feeling and know what action would be right.
This was something that he felt was unique to him. He had a few other co-workers who were also vampires, but they mostly just had superhuman strength, heightened senses like smell, and fast healing.
If they got injured, they healed a lot slower than him too.
Maeve came up behind him and hugged him from behind, leaning her head on his back. A warmth spread through them both and his fangs responded by trying to get longer and he felt the urge to turn around and sink them into her neck, bite every inch of her.
But when this feeling came over him, she felt it too, and she too wanted to just take off the clothes he had just put on. But she shook the feeling and let go of him again.
"Sorry." He said. "I don't know why I get so crazy when you touch me."
"It's fine," she said and put her hands into her pajama pants pockets. "I know you want to take it slow, and I do too. After all, we have only known each other for a couple of months now and even if we are married according to Loki, I just feel like I don't remember it."
She lightly patted his head and the two of them just felt a slight hint of warmth flow through them and then it was gone, their form of a hug because of Sirius' high amounts of uncontrolled bloodlust.
Then she proceeded to climb back into her bed tiredly and turned out the lamp. They slept in separate beds because they couldn't stand touching each other, but that was fine with her.
He went into the kitchen and opened the fridge and grabbed a few packs of blood. He opened one and drank it and saved the other one for later.
Then he grabbed his car keys, put the bag into the refrigerated glovebox of the police car, and picked up the portable radio that was on his dashboard. He clicked a button with his finger and it made a static beeping sound.
"Officer Sirius Helson reporting." He said into his radio.
"Copy, another officer said to him, we are on scene for a 10-54 hit and run, a man has fled the scene after hitting a person we are assuming was a gang member or something. The ambulance has arrived and is attending to the victim right now."
A third officer beeped into the conversation. "I have a 10-60, we have spotted the suspicious vehicle along Court Street and I- 23. Please send any agents that are in the area."
"On my way," Sirius responded
