Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Child's Determination

Chapter 1: A Child's Determination

Inside a room, a young boy, at the age of fifteen, can be seen sitting in a lotus position, seemingly in deep focus. Beads of sweats trickled down on his body, giving him an uncomfortable feeling.

Slowly, he opened his eyes and collapsed back to his bed, his happiness palpable.

"I finally broke through!!!" He exclaimed happily, grinning from ear to ear. He closed eyes, his consciousness was pulled away as he enter his own sea of consciousness. When he opened his eyes, he was no longer in his room, but inside a vast, area of darkness.

There was two light source, two ring, one red and one blue emitting a bright hue of their respective color.

On the middle of the red ring, which represents his Physical Attribute, two red dagger was floating, representing his Dagger Attribute.

On the middle of the blue ring, which represents his Magic Attribute, four star, two black and two red, representing Darkness and Blood Element Attribute.

This means that he was a Second Level Warrior and a Second Level Dual Mage. He was what considered to be lucky, as most people tend to only have an attribute. It's Either Physical, Magic or Mental attribute.

The Dagger means that dagger weapons was the most he was proficient with, and the four star shows which element he can wield.

Exiting his sea of consciousness, he immediately took a bath to remove all that sweat and freshen himself. Today was the day, that he, Nux Bloodbane, enters a dungeon. Dungeon Portals are gate to another world, a world filled with monsters. And he, was going to enter one today!

Putting on the armor the given to him by the Academy, a lightweight steel chest plate, two arm guards, a belt with a sheat for his dagger and a pair of leather boots. Under the armor, he wore the Academy's student suit, which was a black t-shirt, blue blazer, accompanied by a grey pants.

Putting the dagger on its sheat, he ventured out of his door room. Just like him, other students were also going to enter the dungeon.

"Yo, Nux!". Right after he closed the door, his friend, a Swordsman, Max greeted him. A short, single edge blade was strapped securely to Max waist.

"Let's go?". Skipping the greeting, Nux immediately questioned Max. Max nodded, he too cannot wait. As the duo walked together, they passed along other group of students, exchanging greetings and congratulatory words to each other.

Soon, they arrived at the back of the Academy, which itself was an incredibly huge place, a 5 storey square building. The Academy itself covers 200 meters wide, adding the the two dorm buildings adjacent to it, reaching a length of 300 meters.

At the back of the Academy, was wide stone platform. On the center, a blue circle, spinning like a vortex floats 2 feets above the platform.

The place was already crowded, with many students going in and out of the portal, academy professors were scattered, making sure everything is under control.

"Goodluck Max, I'll see you on the other side." Nux extended his arms, his fist clenched. Max, extended his arms, his fist meeting Nux fist as the duo made a fistbump.

"Yeah man, good luck to you too!" The two entered the portal, disappearing from the world.

Then, the scenery shifted. Nux was no longer at the Academy, but at a wide, open plains. According to his professor, this one of the safest place, not only was the monster here were weak, but can be quite harmless too.

Looking at his far left, he saw a common monster. Slimes! It was an oddly shaped, blue colored slime. Remembering the teachings in the Academy, even if the enemies were slimes, one should still be cautious of other enemies.

He walked at nornal pace towards the lone slime, he still did not drop his guard. Once he was a few feet away from the slime, it sensed him and it slowly mved towards.

Cute! Was his first impression of slimes. Mana, the energy required to cast Magic, began to gather slowly towards his palm. 5 seconds later, a black mass at the shape of a ball, size of his fist appeared floating above his palm. This was a skill, Ball of Darkness.

Coincidentally, the slime was already near his feet. He fired the Ball of Darkness at the slime, leaving a gaping hole on the poor slimes body as it went limp, turning into liquid, signifying that it was dead.

A small, blue ball appeared at the ground. It was a monster core, a reward for slaying monster in the Dungeon. He looked at his hand with disappointment. Ball of Darkness is considered as a basic skill yet it took him 5 seconds to cast it. In real battles, that 5 seconds can be used by his enemies to kill him.

This was also taught by the Academy. Instead of making him feel down, he tried to cheer himself up. He had just awaken a week ago, and was already at the second level already, while his friend Max is still stuck at the first level. And his other classmates too.

He was advancing at faster pace than others, but not for long. He was a Dual Power, Physical and Magical Power. As well as a Dual Elemental Mage, Darkness and Blood. While others focus on only one, he had to focus on three.

Shaking his head, he continued walking, looking for another prey.

Within minutes, he found a new prey. It was another slime.

Casting his skill, a mass of darkness flew from his palm towards the slime, killing it in an instant. Picking up his rewards, he excitedly look for more targets. The low level Dungeon owned and controlled by the Academy were used only as a training ground for students. Although, there have been a few cases that students dies in this place, it was attributed to them looking down on monsters and was killed.

He started studying at the Academy just a week ago. He, Nux Bloodbane was one of the outstanding students. He still has 5 years in the Academy left to study, train and meet trusted companions.

Before he left seclusion, his parents had left him a treasure that only he ca access. He needs to be at Fifth Level in both Power, before he could open it.

He only has one main goal and that is...
