"Take good care of my daughter Harper, Zayn. If you marry my daughter, I will make sure you become the next Alpha."
"Okay, Uncle Owen," I murmured sweetly as I hung up the phone, but inside I wanted to burn down the entire world.

My parents were Alpha and Luna of the Night Shade Pack, but they perished in a car accident when I was twelve. I was too young, so Owen Willis took over as caretaker of the Night Shade Pack.
Though being a beta tester, he performed admirably in his role. I knew he wanted to be Alpha, but he couldn't. Owen Willis had been attempting to align me with his beta daughter Harper Willis in order to maintain control over the Night Shade Pack after I reached the age of 20 and became the next Alpha.
I would never give him my crown again, and I would never marry Harper Willis, even if she were my mate.
