However, Xu Ze on the other end of the line hesitated, his voice clearly filled with uncertainty.
"But how could I make it in time... Are you asking me to return to the country and kill her?" His voice was thick with confusion and concern.
"She won't return to the country! Because I will make sure she comes to you willingly!" I hurriedly explained, sensing his bewilderment, I continued, "In fact, I'm actually quite relieved that it's you, a fraudster, on the other end of the line. If it were anyone else, I wouldn't know what to do."
"Being in your line of work, surely you have access to software that can bombard phone lines, right?" I asked urgently.
"Yes... yes, we have that." Xu Ze answered hesitantly.
"I need you to call my best friend. I'll give you the number in a moment. Tell her you're from the military camp. Say that you dug me out of the ground and want to renegotiate with her! If she refuses, you'll let me return to the country alive!" I spoke rapidly, outlining my plan.
I was fully aware that returning me alive would be the most fatal threat to my best friend.
"But if she calls the military camp to verify, won't she find out?" Xu Ze paused, seemingly realizing the issue.
"Exactly, that's why you'll need to use the software to bombard every number from that military camp. That way, she won't be able to verify anything, and in the end, she'll have no choice but to deal with you!" I explained, my voice loud and clear, determined to make him fully understand my intentions.
"Where she meets you can be up to you!" I added.
"Wait, wait... I don't even know which military camp it is, I only know it's south..." Xu Ze said anxiously.
I gritted my teeth, desperately trying to recall: "I saw the soldiers here wearing red armbands with crossed knives on them..."
"I know which one you're talking about, but... how am I supposed to get the numbers of everyone in the camp? I can at most get a few numbers of the small leaders..." Xu Ze responded helplessly.
But to me, this was already far better than I had expected.
"We'll have to take a chance!" I sped up, "My best friend can't possibly have all their numbers; she's probably only in contact with one of the small leaders, and maybe the driver. We can only gamble that those two numbers are among the ones you bomb."
"I get it... I get it..." Xu Ze responded repeatedly, clearly grasping the plan.
"Also, when you call, make sure she's still in the car! Wait until the driver has left before you deceive her! Otherwise, she'll figure it out immediately!" I made my final instructions, "And she has a gun, but once she's near the border, she'll have to get rid of it; that's the rule."
"Shit..." Xu Ze muttered under his breath, "If the armed group finds out it was me, I'll have to run too."
He wasn't wrong. Compared to the three years of planning my best friend had meticulously arranged, my plan was incredibly risky.
But if successful, Xu Ze only needed to sit back and wait for her to walk right into his trap.
"Shit!" Xu Ze hung up the phone, leaving behind only the words, "Wait for my call."
In an instant, an eerie silence descended once again.
Lying in the coffin, every breath I took was an immense struggle. With each breath, the oxygen in the tank dwindled, and my time was running out.
But I couldn't let myself die like this. I had to hold on until I heard news of her death. I could not give up now.
