Chapter 7 - 7

The interior of the helicopter was warm and bright, in stark contrast to the ice and snow outside. The rescuers quickly pulled him into the cabin and asked about his condition with concern. Mark felt a warm current flowing through his body, and his consciousness began to blur, but the stone in his heart finally fell.

"Mr. Mark, you are safe." A voice sounded in his ears, and he opened his eyes with difficulty and saw a strange face. The man was wearing a rescue team uniform, but the smile on his face made Mark feel a little uneasy.

He wanted to speak, but his throat seemed to be blocked by something, and he could only make a hoarse sound. He tried to sit up, but found that his hands and feet were tightly tied to the stretcher with restraints.

"Who are you?" Mark's voice was full of confusion and fear.

"Don't worry, Mr. Mark." The voice sounded again, but this time with a hint of coldness, "You will understand everything soon."

An ominous premonition surged in Mark's heart. He struggled to break free, but the restraints became tighter and tighter. He looked up at the window of the helicopter, but found that the helicopter was not flying in the direction he expected.

"Where are you taking me?" Mark's voice was filled with despair.

No one answered him, only the roar of the helicopter and the whistling wind and snow outside the window. Mark felt his consciousness becoming increasingly blurred, his vision began to darken, and he eventually fell into a coma.

When he woke up again, he found himself lying in a strange room. The room was cold, the walls were covered with frost, and a dim light was shaking above his head. He tried to sit up, but his body felt a sharp pain.

"You're awake." A voice sounded in the darkness, and Mark turned his head and saw a vague figure.

"Who are you? Where is this?" Mark's voice was trembling.

"I'm the master here." The figure slowly approached, revealing an old face, "This is the center of the frozen hell, a place you've never heard of."

A fear surged in Mark's heart, and he realized that he might have fallen into a bigger conspiracy. He tried to recall everything that had happened before, but his memory seemed to be covered by ice and snow and was blurred.

"Why did you save me?" Mark's voice was filled with despair.

"Save you?" The figure sneered, "No, we are not here to save you. You are the key to our plan, a key that allows us to control the Ice Abyss Beast."

A chill surged in Mark's heart, and he realized that he might have become part of a larger conspiracy. He began to recall the documents found in the radio tower, those research materials on the Ice Abyss Beast.

"What do you want to use me for?" Mark's voice was firm.

"You will know." The figure turned and walked into the darkness, "Now, you just need to rest well and wait for your new mission."

Mark's heartbeat hit violently in his chest, like a trapped beast trying to escape. He lay on the cold bed, his fingers gently touching the mattress under him, feeling the rough texture. The dim lights in the room danced on the edge of his vision, casting dark shadows. His thoughts were confused, like snowflakes blown away by the wind, unable to condense into shape.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the panic in his heart. He had to calm down, he had to sort out his thoughts and find a way to escape. He recalled the moment he was taken on the helicopter, the faces of the so-called "rescuers", their eyes were without a trace of warmth, only indifference and calculation.

Mark sat up slowly, his movements were cautious, fearing to attract the attention of people outside. His eyes gradually adapted to the dimness in the room, and began to look around for possible escape routes. The room was small, with cold walls on all sides, and the only exit was a closed iron door.

His fingers tapped lightly on the wall, trying to find any possible weaknesses. Each knock was accompanied by a dull echo, which was particularly clear in the silent room. His movements suddenly stopped, and his fingers touched an unusual brick, which seemed to be looser than the other bricks.

A glimmer of hope flashed in Mark's mind, and he carefully dug out the brick, revealing a narrow passage. He held his breath and moved the other bricks one by one until the passage was large enough for him to pass through.

Without hesitation, he quickly got into the passage and crawled in the narrow space with his hands and feet. The air in the passage was turbid and musty, and his lungs felt oppressive. But he couldn't stop, he had to escape from this cage as soon as possible.

Just as he was about to reach the end of the passage, his fingers suddenly touched a trace of cold metal. He was startled, it was a grille blocking his way. He pushed hard, but the grille didn't move. A sense of despair surged in his heart, but he couldn't give up, he had to find a way to open it.

He returned to the room and began to look around for possible tools. His eyes finally fell on a shabby table with some discarded electronic equipment scattered on the table. He walked over and searched carefully, hoping to find some useful parts.

His fingers searched among the electronic parts until he found a thin wire. He held the wire tightly, and a new determination surged in his heart. He returned to the grille and began to pry the lock of the grille with the wire.

Time passed by minute by minute, and fine beads of sweat appeared on Mark's forehead. His fingers began to feel numb, but he couldn't stop. Finally, he heard a slight "click" and the lock of the grille was opened.

He pushed the grille open with force, revealing a vent. He did not hesitate and climbed out quickly. He found himself in a huge laboratory filled with various equipment and instruments, and some scientists in white coats were busy.

Mark carefully avoided their sight and looked for an exit.

He found a small door with "Emergency Exit" written on it. He pushed the door open with force and found himself in a corridor. The corridor was long, and there were some strange paintings on the walls on both sides, depicting some creatures and scenes he had never seen before. He felt a chill, and these paintings seemed to hide some secrets.

He walked along the corridor until he saw a door with "Exit" written on it. He pushed the door open with force and found himself in the outside world. Outside was an ice field, and the wind and snow were still raging. He took a deep breath and felt the free air. He knew that he had to escape from here as soon as possible, otherwise the pursuers would arrive soon.

He began to run on the ice field, the wind and snow blurred his vision, but he did not slow down. He knew that he had to find a safe place as soon as possible, otherwise he would not survive.

He ran for a long time until he saw an iceberg. The iceberg was high enough to block the wind and snow. He quickly climbed up the iceberg and found a cave.

The cave was deep and warm inside. He lay in the cave, gasping for breath. He knew he was safe for the time being, but he also knew that he had to find a way home as soon as possible.

He began to rest in the cave and recover his strength. He knew that he had to stay awake and find a way to escape.

Just then, he heard a strange sound mixed with the sound of wind and snow outside the cave. He walked carefully to the entrance of the cave and peeked out.

He saw a group of ice beasts wandering on the ice field, seemingly looking for something. A fear surged in his heart, and he knew that he had to find a way to escape as soon as possible, otherwise he would not survive.

He began to look for useful items in the cave, hoping to find some tools that could help him escape. He found some hay and some stones, and he began to make a simple torch with hay and stones.

He lit the torch and began to explore the cave. He knew that he had to find an exit as soon as possible, otherwise he would not survive.

He found a narrow passage, and at the end of the passage was an ice cave. He carefully entered the ice cave and began to explore in the ice cave.

The ice cave was deep and full of all kinds of strange creatures and plants. He felt a sense of wonder that these creatures and plants seemed to hide some kind of secret.

He continued to explore in the ice cave until he found an exit. The exit led to a huge ice valley, which was full of all kinds of strange creatures and plants.

He walked out of the ice cave carefully and began to explore in the ice valley. He knew that he had to find a way to escape as soon as possible, otherwise he would not survive.
