Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: The Warehouse

As we approached the old warehouse, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The building loomed above us, its windows like empty eyes staring back.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I whispered to Jack.

He nodded, his eyes locked on the warehouse. "We have to know what's going on," he said.

Alexander stood beside us, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. "I don't like this," he said. "It feels like a trap."

But it was too late to turn back now. We had to see this through.

We crept inside, our flashlights casting eerie shadows on the walls. The warehouse was abandoned, the only sound the creaking of old wooden beams.

As we moved deeper into the warehouse, I stumbled upon something. A small room, hidden behind a stack of crates.

"Guys, look at this," I whispered.

Jack and Alexander followed me into the room, their eyes widening as they took in the sight before us.

The room was filled with computers and surveillance equipment. There were monitors showing feeds from all over the city.

"What is this?" Alexander breathed.

Jack's eyes narrowed. "This is how they're keeping tabs on us," he said. "This is how they knew we were investigating."

I felt a chill run down my spine. We had stumbled into something much bigger than we had ever imagined.

Suddenly, we heard footsteps. Heavy, deliberate footsteps.

"Someone's coming," Alexander whispered.

We turned to face the door, our hearts pounding in unison.

And then, a figure emerged from the shadows.

It was Victor, Jack's father's associate.

"Welcome," he sneered. "I've been expecting you."

As Victor began to circle around us, his eyes gleaming with malice, I knew we were in grave danger.

We had to get out of there, and fast.

But as we turned to make a run for it, I realized that we were trapped.

The doors were locked, and Victor had a sinister grin spreading across his face.

"We're not going anywhere," he said.

And with that, everything went black.
