Rachel's eyes locked on ours, her expression urgent. "We have to go now," she said. "My contact is in danger."
I nodded, my heart racing. "Let's go," I said.
We quickly grabbed our things and followed Rachel out of the safe house. We got into a car that was parked outside, and Rachel started the engine.
As we drove, Rachel explained the situation. "My contact's name is Emily," she said. "She's a secretary at the Langley's company. She's been feeding me information for weeks."
"What kind of information?" Jack asked.
"Financial records, emails, phone records," Rachel replied. "She's been very brave."
I felt a surge of admiration for Emily. She was risking her life to help us.
As we drove, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. We were walking into a dangerous situation, and I didn't know what to expect.
But I knew we had to try. We had to save Emily.
After what felt like an eternity, we arrived at the Langley's company. It was a tall, imposing building with security cameras everywhere.
Rachel parked the car in a nearby alleyway, and we got out. "We have to be careful," she said. "The Langleys have security guards everywhere."
We nodded, our hearts racing. We knew what was at stake.
Rachel led us to a side entrance, where Emily was waiting for us. She was a petite woman with long, curly hair.
"Thank you for coming," she said, her eyes filled with tears.
We quickly ushered her into the car, and Rachel started the engine. As we drove away from the Langley's company, I felt a sense of relief wash over me.
We had done it. We had saved Emily.
But as we drove, I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were being watched. I kept looking over my shoulder, expecting to see the Langleys' security guards following us.
And then, I saw it. A black SUV was following us, its tinted windows reflecting the sunlight.
My heart sank. We were in danger.
"Rachel, we're being followed," I said, my voice low.
Rachel's eyes locked on the rearview mirror, and her expression changed. "Hold on," she said.
The car surged forward, speeding through the streets. I held on to the seat, my heart racing.
We were in a high-speed chase, and I didn't know if we would make it out alive.
