Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Glimpse of Hope

As the weeks went by, I found myself growing more and more comfortable around Alexander. We would meet up with our group to work on our project, and I would always make sure to sit next to him. I loved listening to his ideas and insights, and he always seemed to have a way of making me feel like my opinions mattered.

One day, as we were working on our project, Alexander turned to me and asked, "Hey, Sophia, do you want to grab coffee with me after class?"

My heart skipped a beat as I nodded eagerly. "Yeah, that sounds great."

As we walked to the coffee shop, Alexander asked me about my weekend plans. I told him about my plans to study for an upcoming exam, and he offered to help me study.

As we sat down at a table, Alexander asked me about my favorite books and movies. I was surprised to find that we had a lot in common, and our conversation flowed easily.

As we finished up our coffee, Alexander walked me back to my dorm. We stood outside the entrance, chatting and laughing, and I found myself feeling like I didn't want the afternoon to end.

As we said our goodbyes, Alexander turned to me and smiled. "I had a really great time today, Sophia. Thanks for grabbing coffee with me."

I smiled back at him, feeling my heart flutter in my chest. "I had a great time too, Alexander. Thanks for asking me."

As I watched him walk away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, Alexander felt the same way about me as I did about him.

Over the next few weeks, Alexander and I continued to spend more and more time together. We would study together, grab coffee together, and even go for walks around campus together.

I found myself feeling happier and more confident than I had in weeks. Being around Alexander made me feel like I was home, like I was exactly where I was meant to be.

But despite the strong connection I felt with Alexander, I couldn't shake the feeling that he didn't feel the same way. He was always friendly and kind to me, but he never seemed to flirt with me or make any romantic overtures.

I tried to push the thoughts aside and just enjoy the time we spent together. But as the days turned into weeks, I couldn't help but wonder if I was just reading too much into things.

Was Alexander really interested in me, or was he just being friendly? And what did he really think of me?

I knew I had to be careful not to get my hopes up too high. But as I lay in bed that night, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. What would the future hold for Alexander and me?

As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but smile. I knew that I had developed strong feelings for Alexander, and I was excited to see where things would go.

But little did I know, my heart was about to take a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and I was powerless to stop it.

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed and renewed. I got dressed and headed to class, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation.

As I walked into the classroom, I saw Alexander sitting in his usual seat. He smiled at me as I walked in, and I felt my heart skip a beat.

I took my seat next to him, and we exchanged a brief hello. As the professor began to lecture, I found myself feeling more and more at ease.

I was excited to see what the day would bring, and I was grateful to have Alexander by my side.

But as the day went on, I began to realize that something was off. Alexander seemed distant and preoccupied, and he barely spoke to me during class.

I tried to brush it off, telling myself that he was just stressed or overwhelmed. But as the day went on, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

And then, just as I was starting to feel like everything was okay, Alexander dropped a bombshell that would change everything.
