Chapter 41
Justina
The nightmares had started a few nights ago—dark, fragmented visions that made no sense but left me drenched in sweat and gasping for air. Each time I closed my eyes, I saw shadows moving through the trees, glowing red eyes piercing through the darkness. I heard the echoes of battle cries, the scent of blood thick in the air, and the sharp pain of claws tearing through flesh—my flesh. Sleep had wandered far from me as it was scary to sleep. I kept thinking of the worst way to fear if not nightmares. It felt real. They were like a warning. The woods erre like a whole new world in my head and only something sinister would lock me in there. I tried to reach my reality but things only got darker and darker by the second. Each time I tried to touch the surface a quiet force pulls me back..
It felt real. Too real.
Tonight was no different.
