Hinata listen's to Haruki's story about his day and how he had fallen in love at first sight for a particular someone but confirmed his feelings today. Hinata couldn't help but wonder how his brother was always falling in the hands of scums who are nothing but gold diggers. He couldn't exactly blame him though, Haruki had always been weak with love and had his heart broken tons of times. It's a good thing he's still a virgin.
" So you're telling me you fell for a good for nothing the first time you laid eyes on him?" Hinata asked, not surprised by his brother's already usual behavior.
" He's not a good for nothing, this time will be right. I just know it" Haruki said enthusiastically and Hinata rolled his eyes.
" This is not the first time you're saying that, you know?" Hinata said short living his brother's joy
" You're such a killjoy" Haruki said pouting, his eyes looking sad.
Hinata couldn't bear to see the hurt look on his brother's face and finally gave in
"Argh! okay fine. Do whatever you want. Just know that if anything happens, my shoulder will be here just like always. AND I WON'T BE FORGIVING THIS TIME AROUND" He said and went to bed.
Haruki sat down there dumbfounded. 'It's not my wishful thinking right? Hinata's become more conversative than he usually is and for the first time in ages I saw a glint of care in his eyes.' He thought, his joy beyond words.
THE NEXT MORNING
" Hina....Hinaaata....Hina-chan" Haruki's called his voice ringing in Hinata's head.
" What is it? It's Saturday so leave me the fuck alone" he yelled sleepingly
" Asahi's here to pick you up" he replied, whispering in Hinata's ear
" There's no way I'm falling for that. Why will he be here anyways?" Hinata grumbled.
" Because we have to start training and preparing for the friendly match next weekend." Asahi's thick voice said. Hinata flinched upon hearing his voice and he sat up.
" What the hell? I wasn't told we were meant to be in today. I'm late already so I'm not going" he replied trying to lay back on his bed but Haruki stopped him.
" C'mon lil bro, don't you think it's too early to show everyone how lazy you are?" he said teasingly and Hinata scowled at him.
He got up from the bed, whining endlessly about how everyone's being unfair, the world in whole. Asahi couldn't help but chuckle at the little scene that unfolded between the brothers.
" You're shocked right?" Haruki said grinning
" It'll be weird if I wasn't right? I mean, ever since you guys came to Japan he's been nothing but cold. I never he had a cute side" Asahi said blushing and Haruki chuckled.
" I'll let you in on a little secret before he's ready" Haruki said and Asahi gave him all his attention.
" I just want you to know that it's not his fault he's like that. You knew how Hinata was when you were still in America right? He was cheerful, loving, caring even at his young age and of course stubborn" Haruki began, smiling " Your departure came as a heavy blow to him, he cried for months looking for you. His smiling face began to fade little by little and when our dad died his smile faded completely. "
Haruki paused for a while and looked at Asahi's face. He smiled and continued " After our father's death, he distanced himself from us. It took me two years, eight months and twenty-two nights to become the closest person to him. He might be cold but he's a big softie on the inside. Meeting you again made me realize that there's still hope Asahi, please bring back the long forgotten smile to brother's face" Haruki said his eyes glittering with tears.
Asahi felt touched by what he just heard and couldn't but feel guilty. He made a vow to himself that he'll be the one to restore Hinata's smile and always be there loving him. He assured Haruki and hugged him slightly.
" Ahem, am I interrupting something?" Hinata said, looking at them suspiciously as he stood there in his pink hoodie and shorts screaming a rabbit's vibe.
" You look stunning as always lil bro" Haruki said smiling at his brother but he couldn't ignore the hunter look Asahi had in his eyes and laughed out loud.
" What's wrong with you? Well we're off" Hinata said wondering what those two were talking about to make his brother rather gloomy no matter how hard he tried to cover it up.
"Well lil bro be careful not to be eaten" he said smiling widely and Hinata gave him a confused look. " And you Asahi, if you want to see the cute version of Hina, feel free to come anytime" he said giggling and Hinata snapped
" Why don't you use your time chasing your love at first sight" he said angrily and pushed Asahi aside so he could enter the car. Haruki laughed at his brother's obvious embarassment and waved them goodbye.
