Chereads / FROZEN 3: Elsa and Jack Frost / Chapter 17 - ARRIVAL

Chapter 17 - ARRIVAL

AT ARENDELLE

Olaf's hands were still raised up even after he had completed saying the spell and now both of them were trembling a bit.

Suddenly, a bright light swept past in the air in front of Olaf and all the people of ARENDELLE still in the square.

But it is so brief that it looked like just a flash, so no one thought much of it.

Actually they didn't even notice it.

… Except Olaf that is.

His coal-black eyes darted and looked about frantically; left and right, up and down, everywhere he could see within his vision of the square.

There was nothing.

Slowly, he started lowering his hands, a fresh set of tears had already begin to pool in his eyes.

"It didn't work…"

He turned back toward the platform with the chopping block, just as the executioner's axe raised high came down on Anna's bowed head.

"NO!" Olaf's screamed in his small voice.

And then…

Jack Frost appeared with his body glitching like a broken game.

It looked like he just popped out of nowhere but at the same time it almost looked like he fell from a high place because he bounced…

Then toppled over, landing, —-or was it falling— across Anna's body with his head that was turned to the side laying awkwardly on her neck.

And of course, everyone, including the townsfolk saw this and gasped, at the same time.

Everything else happened so fast;

Jack let out a raspy groan, panting as his chest heaved.

"What… Wh—"

He felt so dizzy but he managed to open his icy blue eyes, blinking in a daze.

His head was still turned to the side but then his ears caught the sound he always heard just before a frost storm started:

The sound of rushing wind.

He turned his head to it only to see the sharp cutting edge of a blade of a… what? Descending to his face.

He didn't know, there was no time to even think to check.

All he saw and knew was that it was a blade and that it was 2 seconds from chopping his face in half.

So his reflex response was a panicky and jerky self defense move; thrusting his staff— that he did even realise was still in his left hand— upwards.

Then a strong surge of a large amount of frost burst out from the staff's tip, spiraling outward and colliding with the axe— just when it was a millimeter from his face.

It shattered the blade into a thousand frosty frozen shards, blasting the executioner with the full on force backwards across the large berth of the execution platform.

And his enormous body was sent crashing into the wooden railing at the edge of it all before tumbling down to the ground below.

Naturally, the feeble crowd erupted into a chaos, screaming and shouting, running as they stumbled and tried shielding themselves from the swirling frost that still hung in the air.

Even after their close up experience with their predecessor Queen by the second, they were still afraid of magic.

Mothers searched for their children, husbands searched for wives, children cried for their parents and people kept trampling on each other in their bid to escape.
