The Day Everything Changed
Since the day Rudra had seen the photograph of the people involved in "Project Null," he had sent thousands of his men to uncover the truth. Yet, for four long years, despite relentless searching, no significant leads had emerged. Rudra was on the brink of losing hope when, one day, Siddharth burst into his office, breathless and frantic.
"Rudra!" Siddharth called out, panting heavily.
Rudra quickly calmed him down, pouring him a glass of water. "What happened, Siddharth? Why are you in such a rush?"
Siddharth, still catching his breath, replied, "I found something! My men, while searching the southern regions, discovered a man. He's been looking for the same people in that photograph."
Rudra's heart raced with anticipation. "Where is he? Tell me now!" He grabbed Siddharth's arm and led him to the car.
Siddharth continued, "He was last reported to be in Nagasaki, Japan. It seems he's deeply connected to this whole Project Null mess."
Without wasting another second, Rudra and Siddharth embarked on their journey. Their route took them through an endless desert and a perilous ocean crossing. After what felt like an eternity, they finally reached Nagasaki.
Standing on the bustling streets, Rudra sighed. "It's taken us so long to get here. Let's hope this lead isn't another dead end."
Siddharth nodded, about to respond, when suddenly, gunfire erupted. Bullets rained down on them, forcing Rudra and Siddharth to dive for cover behind their vehicle. Chaos ensued as the Japanese army, heavily armed, surrounded them.
"They knew we were coming!" Siddharth shouted over the deafening noise.
Rudra, gritting his teeth, barked, "Keep moving! We need to escape!"
Dodging bullets, they managed to get back into their car and sped away. But their relief was short-lived. A missile whizzed through the air, targeting their vehicle.
"Jump!" Rudra yelled.
Both men leaped out just in time as the missile struck their car, reducing it to a flaming wreck. Bruised and battered, they grabbed their weapons and began returning fire. But the Japanese army's strength was overwhelming. Every time they thought they were gaining ground, another wave of soldiers appeared.
"This isn't working, Rudra! They're too strong!" Siddharth shouted, desperation in his voice.
Before Rudra could respond, the sound of heavy gunfire erupted from the shadows. The relentless assault of bullets rained down on the Japanese soldiers, cutting through their ranks with surgical precision. The firefight lasted for four intense minutes, leaving the battlefield eerily silent.
As the smoke cleared, a group of men emerged from the shadows. Dressed in black robes, their faces obscured by masks, they carried advanced weapons unlike anything Rudra or Siddharth had seen before.
One of the masked figures stepped forward. His voice was deep and commanding. "Rudra. Siddharth. You've traveled far to uncover secrets that were never meant to be found."
Rudra, still clutching his gun, demanded, "Who are you? Why are you helping us?"
The man didn't answer directly. Instead, he tossed a bloodstained folder at Rudra's feet. "This contains everything you need to know about Project Null. But beware—knowing the truth comes at a cost."
Rudra picked up the folder, his hands trembling. Inside were classified documents, photos, and maps. His heart sank as he flipped through the pages, recognizing his parents in several of the photos, surrounded by men in white lab coats.
"Your parents didn't die in an accident," the masked man continued. "They were killed because they knew too much. Project Null is bigger than you can imagine, and you're not the only one looking for answers."
Before Rudra could ask more, the masked figures vanished into the shadows, leaving him and Siddharth alone in the carnage.
Siddharth, looking at Rudra, asked hesitantly, "What now?"
Rudra's face darkened. "Now, we finish this. No matter what it takes, I'll uncover the truth and destroy everyone involved in this nightmare."
