Prologue
The scent of leather and cologne mingled with the hum of low conversations, creating an intoxicating ambiance in the upscale lounge. Ryu Ga-in leaned back on the velvet sofa, one leg crossed over the other, her red heels dangling precariously. She swirled the glass of wine in her hand, the liquid catching the light as her eyes lazily scanned the room.
The alphas were out in full force tonight—confident, predatory, and painfully predictable. Ga-in couldn't help but smirk as she caught one of them staring. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and wore his arrogance like a badge of honor. Just her type.
She tilted her head, a teasing smile playing on her lips, and raised her glass in a mock toast. The alpha blinked, startled by her boldness, but quickly recovered, a smirk spreading across his face as he started toward her.
Typical.
The game was always the same. They thought she was an easy target—just another omega waiting to be swept off her feet. But Ga-in had mastered this dance long ago. She thrived on the chase, the attention, and the inevitable disappointment she left in her wake.
"Excuse me, miss," the alpha began, his voice dripping with charm.
Ga-in held up a hand, silencing him. "Let me guess. You saw me from across the room, and you couldn't resist coming over to talk to me. Am I close?"
The alpha chuckled, taken aback but intrigued. "Something like that."
She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. "Listen, sweetheart, I'm flattered, really. But let me save us both some time. You're not my type. In fact," her voice dropped to a whisper, "none of you are."
The alpha's expression faltered, confusion flashing in his eyes. Ga-in stood, brushing past him with a confidence that turned heads. She left the lounge without a backward glance, her heart pounding—not from fear or excitement, but from the thrill of knowing she was untouchable.
At least, that's what she told herself.
But as she stepped into the cool night air, a sudden unease settled over her. For the first time in years, she felt as though she was being watched—not by just one alpha, but by three.
The game she loved so much was about to change, and Ryu Ga-in had no idea if she was ready for it.
