Igneel the red dragon was the second largest dragon of King Aegon a fierce and bloodthirsty beast, that would act jealous and wag its tail like a love-stricken puppy in the presence of the king ...… but burned thousands and even ate hundreds the beast lived war and blood. I say this to show you the bond between the king and his Dragons may be the strongest that has ever existed.
Rhea Targaryen to Brandon Stark
The wind howled as it rushed past the old castle, Aegon got to his feet and looked out the window taking in the almost completely white landscape as far as the eye could see.
The weight of his bloodline was heavy, his mains trained and sharp from his days as an assassin was already cooking up the perfect plan to seize the throne. Each step, Each word he said from now on would in some way influence his plans.
But right now all he had were problems that needed to be solved, he was a bastard, an unknown prince raised in the north, and nobody except himself wanted him on the throne, his claim his bloodline none of it mattered with the power to back it up.
And right now he didn't have such power.
Right now he had nothing that could bring people to his cause and keep them loyal, he needed something to set him apart in the games and schemes already at play, something that made the major players cautious and fear him something that could make people seek him out to join his cause.
And he already knew what he needed.
" I need dragons, and I need them before Dany gets hers."
The system hovered in his eyesight a reminder of the strongest ally he had and would ever have, a great tool for his ascent but it could not summon armies of loyal followers nor could it summon dragons.
Even if he could stay low and wander the north killing and getting points how long would it take for him to be able to have enough points to where he could take on armies by himself?
A hundred years or maybe two?
By then it would be too late.
As if responding to his thoughts the system chimed.
( You are of Targaryen blood, currently, your bloodline is too weak and diluted for you to bond with dragons. But if add two hundred points to blood your bloodline will undergo a primary awakening because you have two magical bloodlines in your body when the time comes you will have to choose one and forsake the other.)
Aegon listened and then smiled, this was good and it also wasn't even a choice.
"What could the Stark bloodline give me? The ability to warg? What is that compared to the ability to bond with dragons."
One might think Aegon would be hesitant since the Stark blood was from his mother, but this wasn't Jon Snow this was Aegon Targaryen with the soul and mind of a man who craved power more than anything else.
To him Jon Snow was already dead, all that was left was Aegon Targaryen so what was the purpose of the Stark bloodline?
"But I still have a problem, the only dragon eggs I know of are the ones that will eventually be given to Daenerys, so even if I can bond with dragons it doesn't help much as right now I have no clue who is currently in possession of them, and if I would be able to hatch them as they were dead before Daenerys was in that fire with them."
As Aegon fell into deep thought once again the system chimed.
( The system allows the host to use points on dragons bond to him to speed up their growth, even if they are currently dead eggs, and as for the eggs. There are currently three dead dragon eggs on Dragonstone in the caves previous inhabited by the dragons that once lived on the island, one the host is close the system can provide directions to the egg.)
Aegons eyes widened as a small smile appeared on his face.
" I didn't expect you could also help me in this way." He says softly.
( The system is here to assist you, providing this information fell within the range of information the system is allowed to give you.)
" What exactly falls outside said range?" Aegon asked.
….
But receiving no reply, he didn't dwell on it as his long term plan had already formed in his head.
He stepped back from the window and turned a cold light flashing in his eyes.
" It's time to leave."
He couldn't alert anyone of his departure, not his uncle or his cousins, he knew they would betray him.
In his mind Ned Stark was too much a fool to see he was the better option.
His skills as an assassin would serve him well, he quickly left his room not even the door making a sound as he moved through the castle with precision.
He needed supplies and weapons for his journey.
He moved quickly keeping to the shadows avoiding the guards and the servants that wondered the halls until he managed to slip into the storeroom.
He packed dried meat and bread into a satchel, he also took a waterskin filled with water.
Then quickly left and headed to the armory, he didn't need much he took a sword and two daggers and a bow and a lot of arrows he strapped the sword and daggers to his hip and hooked the bow under his arm and strapped the arrows in the container to his back. they were quickly covered by the heavy black fur cloak he wore.
After having everything he needed he didn't pause quietly finding the most hidden place to leave the castle completely unnoticed.
By the time the first light of dawn shone on the old castle, Aegon was already far from Winterfell as he struggled to move through the deep snow-covered forest.
Even as his breathing became labored he never slowed down, never looking back he carried on avoiding the main paths as the falling snow quickly covered his traces.
