Chapter 1 - Just another day

Sitting behind the desk engraved with strange carvings on it,a blue eyed girl with black hair sat on an antique desk chair with similar carvings on it, she seemed to be writing on a paper with ink, just like back in the days.

She sat in a dim room, full of focus with whatever she was writing.

As she wrote, something strange was circling around her. It was just like a circle, but it had words on them, also floating around her with a circle. They were unfamiliar words, a different language, words that seem to be long to another world.

The strange circle moved around her with her being in the middle of it as it moved at a steady yet quick pace as she intensified her focus.

There was then a knock on the door but she paid no heed to it. She was not going to let her focus be disrupted just because of someone. She was focused on what she was doing for hours and she was not going to start from scratch... Not again.

The knock sounded again but she simply paid no heed to it.

A voice sounded behind the door but she couldn't hear a word because of her intense attention to whatever she was doing.

The two huge majestically carved wooden doors were pushed open. There was a silhouette of a person.

She still paid no he to who it was. The person started to talk to her, but she didn't hear a word or even boarded to look at the person disturbing her focus.

The person walked close to her, standing behind her chair, observing what she was writing.

She could feel the person's case on her, however, she knew the person behind her was not an enemy.

She continue to write, occasionally making sure her quill was having ink for her to write.

She could feel the person taking strands of her hair into the Black gloved palm.

This causes her to lose focus of her work. She turns to look at the mysterious figure.

It was a guy with white hair and red eyes.

"Did you really have to distract me like this?"she asked him, her face still with no emotion.

He just gave her a smile, looking into those blue eyes which reminds him of both the sea and the stars combined.

She just gets up and heads to her window which was centuries old.

"It's already dark" the sweet voice of the man responded.

She looks out the window, lost in her thoughts."Alan, when was the last time I really got out?" She asked the man who was supposedly called Alan.

He froze his left arm and put it right hand finger on his chin, as if in thought. "I don't really know. It's been decades since you last went out." He goes to her side, pushing open the windows, resting his arms on the window sill.

He turns his gaze to her,"don't you want to see your family?"

She also rest her arms on the sill, her chin on her palm, she sighs, closing her eyes feeling the cool night air breeze on her face.

"I don't want to descend this mountain"she simply said.

"Why not?"

"The air on this mountain is fresh. All the vegetables, fruits and even medicinal herbs can be grown on this mountain. Best of all, I can use my magic freely here"

With that, she points her fore finger upwards. She lights a firework.

"And besides, this place is hidden from human eyes. Last I remembered, human sea magic users as a threat."she continued

Alarm just sighs,"I don't get you sometimes"

She looks at him with a questioning look. "What's that supposed to mean?"

He looks up into the starry Sky,"first you seem calm... To calm. The next second, you could become the most energetic person in the world has ever seen."he quietly laughes to himself.

She punches his arm causing him to grab his aching arm, pretending it hurt."you know, the ruin my focus" she glared at him.

"Sorry about that. But you would have been distracted either way." He gives of a sinister smile.

"You're really something, you know that?"with that, she turns herself heading for the doors.

Before she left, she halted,"please don't forget to close the windows"

He looks at her,"yes ma'am. And if you ever want to see what out there,I'm here"

She turns to face him,"why would I?"she asks

"Why wouldn't you?" He answered back with another question.

"I think I'll stay here"

"Why not come? It will be a new experience everyday" he stretched his arm towards her.

She just smiled at him,"it's better being safe than letting curiosity kill me. I want to live, even if it's for just another Day"

He retreats his arm and looks out again,"you know, times have changed," he looks back at her,"I won't stop trying to convince you"

"You can do as you wish" she smiled, before exiting the office like room with books, leaving him alone.

He just looks at where she exited from, just uttering her name,"Charlotte."
