Asher let go of the fox's hands, unwrapped himself from the branch and darted across the dead wood to the other side of the marsh river.
He turns back for a last glance at the fox.
I'll come back for you I promise.
The fox barked, terrified at its fate.Asher could tell it was losing its strength, time was running out.
Asher ran into the woods, his body was smoking from the sunshine that burned him. He slid across the bush, looking around for any sign of life.
He saw some bug
I need energy
The bugs were slow and docile, so he placed his smallest finger on their small shadow. He didn't feel much energy enter him.
Could it be that they're too small?
He pressed his finger in harder.
What should I do? it's not working!
I'll try something bigger then.
He left the bugs and ran across the woods, sliding past tall trees and thick bushes. There was enough shadow to shade him from the sun as the forest was very thick.
He soon finds a skunk, without thinking he chased it down. The skunk sensed danger and ran away into the bushes
Don't run away, I won't kill you
Asher chased it down through bushes and even tree tops, he didn't even realize, he was climbing the trees too quickly.
He finally catched up to it and as he was about to pounce the skunk resort to its last defence and covered him in a thick cloud odorous funk.
Asher coughed and coughed, his eyes filled with tears from the irritation. The skunk ran off into the woods, Asher braced himself and ran after it.
The skunk lead him through thick bushes and thorny terrains and just when he's about the get it's. Just as he stretched out his hands to grab it by the legs.
The what seem like a gaint boulder crashed on the skunk and Asher. Asher couldn't tell what had just happened to him.
He felt the mushy blood of the dead skunk all over him. Then the boulder begins to like.
He opened his eyes and saw the flattened skunk. The boulder moved to the side and a hand reached out for him.
He smelled a deeply disturbing smell, that rattled him back to his senses. He quickly scurries away into the bushes.
While in the bushes he washed as the large green hand scooped up the flattened remains of the skunk it scoped up dirt and sand alongside it and shuffled it in his mouth
He realized that the large boulder was a giant club.
It's an ogre! Large, green, smelly. I've got a testbook ogre in my hand.
Why do I remember this any not my own last name?
It's a good thing I dodge this one, those
things will eat anything….
Wait a minute! That's it!
He quickly ran out of the bushes and towards the ogres shadow. He gets to it and as he tries to siphon its energy, and be did for a little while them the club crashed down on him again.
He quickly dodged, scurrying off to the side but the ogre immediately swings that way, barely missing Asher.
It can sense me!
Asher retreats to the bushes
What the hell is up with that thing, that's not how ogres are! They're usually stupid
If I go out there, that thing could eat me…
I can do this…. I could just run away.. but Steven. He's still in the mud… he's still waiting for me.
I can't leave him like that.
He felt the ogres feet stomping on the ground. For some one his size it's felt like a mini earthquake.
Soon the ogre was touring over him. He was too busy thinking of a plan to notice that the ogre was moving towards his direction, he had thought it was moving away.
The ogre sends the club crashing down on him
I've got it! I know how I'll defeat it
he felt the weight of it over it's head
Woah!
Asher barely had time to move as the boulder was too close to him. He made a last stitch effort.
The ogre pulled up his club and all he saw underneath it were broken sticks and squished bushes. It look around, growling at everything .
It started to rage against the forest, smashing his club against trees and roaring as he did. Asher could barely hold on to the club after every swing. He had gripped onto the rim of the club at the last moment.
Now everything hurt, he felt delirious from every swing and the smell of the ogre got to him, he felt sick.
This morning I didn't even know I had a nose, now I wish I didn't.
The ogre begins to sniff around for him. It stuck its snout in the air and moved his head in every direction, inhaling excessively. Asher begins to panic.
Do I smell?
The ogres raised the club and looked at it he sniffed it and growled. Asher kept his eyes closed, hoping he'll appear like a plain old shadow on the club.
Nothing to see here, just a plain old shadow.
The ogre roared and threw the club down on the ground, it hit the ground hard. The weight of its hilt crashed on Asher, knocking the wind out of him.
The ogre immediately leaps in the air in an effort to stump on his club.
What the hell is it doing!?
Asher screamed in fear as he saw the giant ogre descending on him, he was barely able to move from the club pressed against him.
The ogres landed on its crushing the giant club into cinders, it stomped and stomped on it, breaking it to pieces.
It stopped and sniff around for Asher. He was hiding behind a tree. He was holding onto his other hand, it had been injured.
I barely escape, that if I wasn't for him landing on one side and setting me free from the other.
I could have been crushed to death by now
The ogre growled again and asher gasped as he realized the ogre was behind the tree
Why don't you wanna let me be!
I'm sorry , okay. You can keep your strength! I don't want it!
The ogre punched the tree, instantly breaking it in half. Asher jumped and quickly scurried away.
The ogre grabbed the broken half of the tree and throws it at him. Asher looked back and saw the tree barreling down at him from all sides, leaving no room to escape.
What the f.....
