CHAPTER 1.
THAT'S HOW GEORGE IS.
Hello. Here's a story about the guy who found a body in a small box.
Let me tell you a little bit about that guy... It's a guy named George. George is not quite an ordinary guy... He is not very gifted compared to other guys his age. He's in his mid-20s and has a hard time with many things. Like, for example, He can't figure out how to pay bills or how to read a whole book, he can pretty much read subtitles on TV slowly if it's not too fast, but he can't figure out how to read a whole book, due to him becoming almost giddy and losing concentration...
And he must have help with almost everything, such as appointments with a dentist, doctor, psychologist, case manager from the municipality and the like...
He doesn't like being in a group of people where he can barely keep up, it's hard for him to put his finger on the ground.
Like, for example, he can't figure out how to play board games with others where you ask each other questions, he won't be able to figure out the answers at all... or sometimes when someone talks to him, he starts to daydream and no matter what the topic is about, he just nods and says yes, even though he has no idea what is being talked about. And that is why he will say yes to some things that he should have said no to, for example if someone asks him to do a favor and help for the next day, he will say yes , even though he should have said no.
Then he's on it... Because he's agreed to something he can't figure out or have time for.
And when he comes to making promises that he can't keep, because of that he's in trouble and it usually goes wrong...
There are many who are not so happy about him. Probably because they think he's a bit too exhausting, and maybe because he's a bit too weird...
He prefers to hang out with only a few people once in a while, those who are not unpleasant people, who are not condescending, and those who are not haters...
In this way, he possibly prevents someone from belittling him or mistreating him in his everyday life and avoids others treating him differently in an unpleasant way and making fun of him. And that is why he is mostly alone and prefers to be alone most of his time, in other words, he is not so socially inclined...
As a child, he had difficulty going to school. The teachers in particular were not too fond of him. Probably mostly because maybe his mother and him were poor and unfortunately very beautiful.
Some shallow people can easily become jealous and therefore treat others badly and differently, using others' invalid small faults as an excuse. Just because of the unnecessary, useless and insignificant looks that cannot be used for anything...
Although the teachers are so-called "proper normal" people. When you see them from the outside and you don't know them, you would think that they are good people and who treat others well, in reality they have an invisible rotten heart that enjoys the pain of others. In an invisible way, that is, they mentally torture others when they are most vulnerable, for example, when there are no adults present who normally react and do something.
One of the examples is that one of his teachers was teaching one day and teaching the class about the world. She used a school map that was used in the old days before digital, and which is mounted on the ceiling and which has a thin string at the bottom of the map, when you pull the string downwards, the world map rolls out downwards so that you can see the world map, and when you pull the cord again and it rolls in, so it takes up much less space, just like roller blinds.
the teacher explained where the places were and pointed to locations. And then she said
: the world is round like a sphere.
then she pointed to the ends of the map and explained
: This country is-
Then she pointed to the opposite end of the map and said
: -Is this country...
Class kids said
: Aah that's how it is?!
All the children understood what the teacher explained, except George.
He thought
'how can the world be round like a sphere? when the paper world map is flat as a pancake where she points!'
Then George's hand went up.
: What now? George!
Said the teacher.
You could almost see the hatred in her eyes, the way her eyes shifted and rolled as she looked over at George... You'd think she was thinking
'Oh brother, not him again'
: How can the world be round like a sphere when the picture is flat like a pancake where you point?
asked George.
: What's wrong with you? There's really something wrong with you, you know that? George!
Said the teacher in a condescending tone.
: I know I'm different. I'm just trying to understand and learn what you explain, but it's not necessary to treat me like tha....
George replied. But before he finished answering, the teacher called out
: QUIET!!!
and hit the table with the pointer really hard, you'd think the pointer was close to breaking, she hit so hard.
It went so fast that you could hear the pointer making a sshhwisshh sound in the air just before it hit the table...
Then the students laughed at George.
: What a deformed one.
Said some of the kids.
Then George sunk down and felt miserable.
She took advantage of his oddity, and his low intelligence, probably mostly because George's mother was prettier than her, and because the men tended to notice George's mother more than her.
Some people are just so used to getting their way and getting what they point to, and when they can't get what can't be bought or negotiated, their day is completely ruined. And therefore they need to treat others badly in order to feel better about themselves...
But there was one girl in the class who didn't laugh. In fact, a single tear slowly ran down her cheek. And she thought
'just think that the teacher can sink so deep just because his mother gets more attention than her. What kind of society do we live in?'
The girl wanted to come up to George and give him a hug and tell him that
: Don't be so sad and don't take care of her, she's probably just jealous... And don't worry, you're very talented in other areas, you'll probably go far one day when the time comes. And all these laughing so-called "ordinary" children, they will envy you some day. Now now don't be so sad and keep your head up, you will find a day where you can adapt somewhere...
And in other classes and other teachers just waited for George to make a mistake so they can scold him. Instead of supporting him or using some other method of teaching him, as they otherwise had a duty to do...
The worst part was, the teachers used to be happy when George made mistakes, so they have something to talk bad about George in the teacher's room during breaks and when the students have recess and especially outside of their working hours when they have time off. They loved talking bad about George's quirks and what mistakes he made at school.
Unfortunately, this is how many people in the world are. And that is why humanity is not ready to unite with the population of other worlds yet...
There are contact persons who come by his place a few times a week from the municipality and check on him if he is alive, because he has nothing to do with the family. The contact persons may also help him pay bills or drive him to the nursing clinic when he needs his depot medicine.
That way he can have a fairly functioning "normal" life in his everyday life... And that way he avoids that he goes out and commits violent crime and the like...
It is in this way that the municipality is quite good at reducing the number of crimes in the country where he lives.
But still, crimes happen here and there once in a while, it probably cannot be completely avoided. but it happens less often compared to other countries, thanks to the country's very good municipal system...
Yes, that's how George is. He is very different. Having difficulty with many things,
But still he tries to be a good man and be nice to others as best he can...
